2013 IRB Tbilisi Cup

edit

Smashem, I have reverted your last change to 2013 IRB Tbilisi Cup 1. Infobox rugby union season is, IMO, a better choice than Infobox Six Nations Championship. You also left our significant information (total tries, link to next season). 2. Your "Standings" table is non-standard. I would draw you attention to the table in 2013 ITM Cup for comparison. 3. Consensus is that week-to-week standings are pointless in a 3-game series 4. There are other, detailed, isssues e.g. changing "Top Scorers" to "Statistics", showing a scorer who didn't score, etc. etc. Hamish59 (talk) 08:18, 11 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Beauden Barrett

edit

On the Beauden Barrett page I believe hyperbole is out of place, for example: "where he excelled in its first XV." Such a claim deserves a source, to say the least.

Please can you provide a source why the following claim? "... The following year he was selected in the New Zealand under 20 squad (coached by Mark Anscombe), which won the world championship in Italy."

I suspect "Not surprisingly," is outside Wikipedia style guidelines.

There is not justification to link to Taranaki multiple times in the same section; certainly no need to link to Taranaki multiple times in the same paragraph.

I have reversed today's changes. Please take up issues here before re-writing. wcrosbie (talk), Melbourne, Australia 07:19, 28 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

NZ RU templates

edit

Before the … squad templates that you have tagged can be deleted you must fix every single article that uses those templates. I would also like to know why you want them deleted. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:15, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Hey User:Smashem here, you asked me a question on why I wanted to delete my templates I created. Well the answer is, I have created other templates using the same information and infact better than the previous templates I want to delete. These can be found on the ITM Cup #Squad lists. Thanks I would also appreciate if you undo the changes of the deletion process. —Preceding undated comment added 05:34, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

I repeat: before these templates can be deleted somebody, and that probably means you, must fix every single article that uses those templates. When, and only when, that has been done, deletion of the templates will be uncontroversial but it would be a good idea if you added in your speedy delete tag mention of the template which replaces. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 08:09, 15 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

National team infoboxes

edit

I like the following changes:

  • You got rid of all those distracting flags from the infoboxes. Well done.
  • Adding the current/best/worst rankings is a good move. (But I'm not a fan of adding a distracting colorful icon that shows if the rankings moved up or down or not at all, esp since the rankings don't move at all most weeks.).
  • You changed "coaches" to "head coach", which is good, because we don't need to lard up the infobox with a whole bunch of assistants.

But I'm not too thrilled about other changes:

  • The Olympic medal record doesn't need to be there. Olympic rugby is 7s not 15s. And the Olympic rugby 15s games from 100 years ago . . . they don't seem so important as to belong in the infobox.
  • You added the confederation. Confederations don't mean that much in rugby. It's just infobox clutter.
  • The location of the biggest win/defeat doesn't seem important enough to be worth adding clutter to the infobox.

Hope this helps. Good luck. Happy to look at a new and improved version if you'd like. CUA 27 (talk) 23:04, 13 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sean Wainui

edit

An anon has been changing Wainui's birthplace from Whatatutu to Auckland, and I have not been able to find any source for either place which might not have been influenced by the Wikipedia article. As you wrote Sean Wainui back in 2015 with his birthplace as Whatatutu, can you find the source you originally used? If so, feel free to reinstate it with a citation, otherwise it is probably best to leave the birthplace blank.-gadfium 17:26, 6 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
