Chemnitzer concertina

edit

It's pretty clearly a concertina, it's literally part of the name of the instrument. MatthewVanitas (talk) 20:33, 15 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Chemnitzer concertina has been reverted.
Your edit here to Chemnitzer concertina was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.YouTube.com/user/fleetingdays?) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 21:45, 15 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

You have to explain your edits, or they'll just be reverted

edit

That's not how this works, you have to explain why you change what you do, and not promote your favorite YouTube links. There's a reason XLink Bot is telling you not to put in YouTube.

In any case, if you persist in making edits while not filling out the "Edit Summary" box to explain why you are making the changes, and not responding to people asking you why you're making the changes, all your work will just be undone and if your account becomes a nuisance it will be blocked. Instead, why not just post on my Talk page so we can talk it out? And/or when you make edits, use the WP:Edit summary window (just underneath your editing window) to give a short and clear explanation of what your edit does so people understand where you're coming from? Copyrighted material was found there the links have been taken off.

Many people in the US and around the world associate a concertina with an accordion.

I have provided several photographs for this wiki article.

All links have been taken off.

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Chemnitzer concertina. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism. Thank you. ukexpat (talk) 20:10, 16 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Chemnitzer concertina shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
Discuss the inclusion or exclusion of external links, whether it is an accordion or a concertina on the article talk page. Nthep (talk) 20:15, 16 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 20:56, 16 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please pause for a moment and discuss

edit

You need to calm down for a second, you have two different people telling you that your edits aren't being helpful.

This is my understanding, is this right?

  • You tried to add a YouTube link, and got an automatic alert saying that we discourage linking YouTube because a lot of people upload copyrighted material that isn't theirs.
  • In response, you removed two links to Concertina clubs, arguing that they are "copyright". Are you alleging that these clubs are pirating copyrighted materials, or are you just getting confused about the actual club sites themselves being copyrighted (which is fine, because Wikipedia isn't copying them)?

You need to communicate better here, particularly by filling out the WP:Edit summary field right below your editing window, which you've never used yet causing all your edits to have no explanation attached, and by WP:Signing your posts when you post on a Talk page, rather than elaving it blank. There's a little "sign" button at just above your editing window, just to the right of the two letter "A"s. MatthewVanitas (talk) 21:21, 16 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
