Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to Anil Ambani, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. NeilN talk to me 09:19, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
This article is not about the Reliance group. --NeilN talk to me 09:21, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing, as you did at Anil Ambani. Your edits have been reverted or removed.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively may result in your being blocked from editing. NeilN talk to me 09:29, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Hello, Sgatet. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Anil Ambani, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. NeilN talk to me 09:40, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at Anil Ambani shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 10:19, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
This is your last warning; the next time you harm Wikipedia, as you did at Anil Ambani with this edit, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. —MelbourneStar☆talk 10:27, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Jeepday (talk) 10:50, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Jeepday: i assume you have blocked me for the day...no issue since i am new to this platform and seem to have violated some norms. however, if you let me know how can i address your concerns on the profile it would be helpful...regards

Request reason:
new to the platform and no really clued in on the norms
Decline reason:
I see no clear understanding of what was wrong and/or how they will move forward. This is made even more difficult because the editor does not sign their talkpage posts as required using ~~~~. I'm afraid we'll see another block shortly unless mentoring comes into play (✉→BWilkins←✎) 11:10, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- First, please read User_talk:NeilN#Anil_Ambani. Second, the article is not a corporate "profile", it is a biography. Phrases like "one of India’s foremost business leaders" and "the legendary Dhirubhai H. Ambani" have no place in a biography. Third, it is obvious you have not spent any time reading the help links as your changes did not cite any reliable sources (and wiped out those that were already there) which is required. To reiterate what I said on my talk page, use Talk:Anil Ambani to discuss what you want changed and why. --NeilN talk to me 11:19, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
ok.point taken on the mention of Reliance Group. can delete that...can also add a lot of articles and sources saying all what i have said on Anil Ambani. will that help? on the talk back part, still figuring out how to use it
- Re your unblock request - so why did you undo, undo, undo and ignore all the warnings to stop by editors who are "clued in on the norms"? --NeilN talk to me 11:25, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Didnt know it was editors trying to warn....just got to know this setup from someone
- You are blocked for 31 hours (or less if an admin decides to unblock early). I suggest you use this time to go through all the help links above. When you are unblocked, use the article's talk page to suggest any changes. --NeilN talk to me 11:32, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
will do...also, do u think its a better idea to do the changes one topic at a time. that way can modify it or address concerns step by step and move further..maybe start with a new pic to begin with and move to profile and then on?

editAlso, how do i know who is the editor...and how do i use talk:anil ambani as you have suggested
- Where did you get the picture from? It will probably be deleted as a copyright violation. Do not make any changes directly to the article. Click here: Talk:Anil Ambani, add a new section, and discuss what you want changed and why. --NeilN talk to me 11:48, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
The picture was clicked by our photographer during the AGM...it belongs to us...
- You need to fix the permissions issue as described here. Be aware that you are giving permission for anyone to use the photo for any purpose. --NeilN talk to me 12:08, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
What should it ideally be
- Did you go to the link? "Please provide evidence of permission by either providing a link to a site with an explicit grant of permission that complies with the licensing policy or by forwarding email communication granting permission to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org." Also, please start signing your posts by adding a --~~~~ to the end of them. --NeilN talk to me 12:28, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
sent the mail and sought Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported (CC BY-NC-ND 3.0) for the pic --Sgatet (talk) 13:02, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. While you're waiting have a look at Stanley Marcus and Billy Butlin. These are examples of good biographies of business people - neutrally written with plenty of sources. --NeilN talk to me 13:18, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Will do...pl let me know if you can think of any good profiles of living businessmen running conglomerates.....and thanks for all the help...wanted to add a champagne to the strawberry but will have to learn uploading pics with text...soon :-) --Sgatet (talk) 13:30, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
I have send two pictures of Anil Ambani - one his photo and the other with Mr Steven Spielberg for permissions. Have nnot got any revert...Those are original photos owned by Mr Ambani....how do i upload the same.....Sgatet (talk) 11:23, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

3RR policy

If you are in some way related to the subject of the article, you should not edit the article yourself, as you may have a conflict of interest. See WP:COI for our policy on editing article on subjects that you have a particular interest in. FurrySings (talk) 13:42, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
I read the "conflict of Interest" in detail and undestand that the biography should be neutral and with information from lot of sources. But being an authorised representor of the person, i will be able to update authentic updates as the person being discussed here is also a celebrity and a lot of times untrue and false article also appear in public domain. What should i do to ensure correct and updated data and avoid conflict of interest..
- Post only on the talk page and wait for other editors to implement edits that are judged to be in accordance with Wikipedia policy. Being an "authorised representor" of a subject does not give you special privileges on an article -- on the contrary, it leads others to suspect that your main goal is to promote this person. The way to avoid difficulties along these lines is to propose edits on the talk page and then let other editors implement those that are deemed acceptable. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 17:38, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
ok. will do it that way (now i have to figure our how to use talk page)....my main idea is not to "promote" but maintain a healthy, accurate and balanced biograpgy that highlight the stature and achievements of Mr ambani who is a known public figure, clebrity and businessman in India and abroad......however, take your point that we can collaborate and do it step by step....will do...thanks for the help...
- "that highlight the stature and achievements of Mr ambani" - that is promotion and it is not permitted. You must maintain a neutral point of view. --ukexpat (talk) 15:49, 8 July 2013 (UTC)
