Tables games

Thanks for your addition to backgammon -- however, "tables games" actually is the name of the family of games that includes backgammon (see tables (board game)) "Table games" refers to a group of games played in casinos (see Table game). —ptk✰fgs 19:39, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

First off, it's speculation because you are saying Springfield does exist in a real state despite evidence and producer commentary that proves otherwise. It's original research because you are saying things without backing it up with sources and adding unverified claims. -- Scorpion⁰⁴²² 23:38, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

You've been reverted by two experienced users who have a better grip of policy than you, is that not enough? By the way, Matt Groening himself has said that no city is really the one true inspiration for Springfield, but Springfield, Oregon is closest and this IS mentioned in the article. Just because a state has a Springfield and Shelbyville, it does NOT mean that that state is where Springfield is, or that any of the cities are the "inspiration" and because you cite no reliable sources, it is OR. The section you have added is original research because it is an original conclusion. Nobody to do with production has made these comments and no reliable analysts have made these comments. The content is based upon you looking at maps and Wikipedia pages and making your own observations and conclusions. I certainly encourage you to discuss this further with administrators and people involved with making these policies. If you do think any of the other content is original research then you can go ahead and edit it or discuss it on the article's talk page. A lot of the content is attributed to various episodes for descriptive purposes, but it's possible that original claims are present on the page. ●BillPP ^{(talk|contribs)} 19:57, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

That topic does have a source when it is discussed in the main body of the article and most of the citations aren't in the lead paragraph per WP:LEAD. The citations 11 and 12 in the creation section backup the claims made. In particular it's important to note that the citation 11 which is mentioning geographical information is from an article about the location of Springfield and not a map. If you were to use maps to cite your conclusions that still would be original research because the ideas and theories you're presenting are your own. If there is OR in the article, I wouldn't suggest you take that as approval of it because the article is in constant development and these things can just slip in. ●BillPP ^{(talk|contribs)} 23:10, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

AfroCine: Join us for the Months of African Cinema in October!

AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.
