Re: Civility

edit

What? Can you tell me what exactly did I say? --Nkcs 19:27, 3 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Nk, if you think that saying "Learn some history before talking, ok?" is civil, then we have a problem. :) I know you were frustrated, we all are, but let's try and argue from a "higher ground", ok? Sebastian Kessel Talk 20:33, 3 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
I can't disagree with you, your help has been critical there. =) You're completely right, but we two know that TharkunColl's behaviour was a bit more "uncivil" than my statement. =) Cheers. --Nkcs 23:10, 3 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Saavedra

edit

I didn't violate any copyrights. I just used a part of a text in Spanish, a list of common known facts about the life of Cornelio Saavedra. Yes, I used the translation machine a little bit, but I didn't just copy-paste without editing it. It seems that my work is worth nothing. I'm really pissed off because Mariano could have just let me explain what happened and take some time to think it. Can you imagine how I felt when I saw all my work was gone?? I work 10 hours a day, I quit college because I don't have any money and I have to work a lot. This is all I have. I only wanted to help. --201.252.98.147 00:56, 4 August 2006 (UTC) aka furgoneroReply

That doesn't give you an excuse to answer like that. If you want to help, maybe try the spanish wikipedia first. Machine Translations are usually not good and we prefer not to have them. Besides, adding references is very important and you had none. When your block expires, you're welcome to try again but please behave a little bit better. Tel Aviv - once again to discuss this?

edit

Seba, even if West Jerusalem was recognized by the int'l community or a large part thereof as part of Israel (and as of now, it is not), then it would be Israel's second largest city and Tel Aviv the largest.

Israel's Jerusalem's statistics since 1967 have always included the extended metropolitan area (West + East + Ramot + the Shuafat-Bet Hanina corridor). You can safely assume that at least 35% is not in the West.

So it is more npov to maintain the ambiguity and not insist on "first" or "second" status for Tel Aviv. Actually, the natives don't care. elpincha 16:53, 4 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your advise please

edit

Hello. I was hoping that you could take a look at Talk:Transformers World 2005. I tagged Transformers World 2005 with a cleanup when I was doing some new page scanning a few weeks ago. The page sat idle for a couple of weeks, but recently it appears to be getting some personal attacks in the article as well as some vandalism. I decided to list it on AFD and now the AFD notice has been removed twice (I responded with the drmafd and drmafd2 templates) and some venom is being spewed on the talk page. I think it is a real mess. I don't know what the next step to take should be. I don't know what the appropriate warning is for what is going on at the talk page. Can you please provide some direction? Thanks --Brian G (Talk) 01:23, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Update, I have just listed the page at WP:RPP. --Brian G (Talk) 02:56, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
But it was denied.... The admin felt that protecting it wasn't the right thing to do with an AFD pending, which I can understand. --Brian G (Talk) 14:58, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Tharkuncoll

edit

Tharkuncoll is one of the most disruptive wikipedians I have met so far. It is not just on the Falkland's page, but in many other articles. I would class many of his edits as border-line trolling. I cannot understand how can someone love an edit war so much (see English people for more examples). Congratulations on your adminship, by the way. Talk:Falkland Islands

edit

Hi Sebas, sorry for bothering. Please, could you take a look at Talk:Falkland Islands? Gibnews has been comparing Argentina's levels of poverty and corruption to the Falklands' current government stating, in example:

They live comfortably, as compared to Argentina where according to Wikipedia in 2005 13.6% suffer extreme poverty, meaning not having enough money to eat. (...) Perhaps you would like one of our second-hand governors?, we get a new one next week.

Is it just me, or is this any kind of personal attack (or, at least, a violation of Wikipedia's civility policies)? Thanks in advance, —Aucun effort n'est trop grand 02:35, 26 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Phenomenex logo.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Phenomenex logo.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 17:50, 1 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

Hello, Sebastiankessel. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:IFK Göteborg.png) was found at the following location: User:Sebastiankessel/Goteborg. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 08:55, 16 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi, the .gif version you reverted back to is quite incorrect itself. The .png version I uploaded is not perfect either but it's at least of better quality.

http://www.bocajuniors.com.ar/images/header_01.gif Here you can see that the official logo has different position of stars including two extra stars at the top. Colors are closer to the .png version I uploaded as the .gif version on Wikipedia is more a shade of purple than blue.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Argentina-boca-juniors.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Argentina-boca-juniors.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Your Comment

To be honest I've always been one for judging people on an individual basis, I respect you for what you've done here. Unfortunately your comment caught me on a bad day; I made the mistake of leaving my email address on a talk page and some of your nationalists have decided to "chastise" me for my contributions on wikipedia. I treat people as they find them, please forgive me for being a grumpy, cantankerous old sod sometimes. Regards, Justin talk 15:17, 17 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Anyway, maybe you think it should be discussed again. Regards.Ipsumesse (talk) 02:19, 23 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
