March 2022

edit

Hello, I'm Sea Cow. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Ralph Barker, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Sea Cow (talk) 14:35, 14 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

SS City of Paris

edit

When ships share the same name as another, we use the year of their launch to differentiate them. This ship was launched in 1920, so the old name was correct. I suggest you revert your move. See WP:SHIPNAME. -Ad Orientem (talk) 22:18, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Digby Morton

edit

Hi and thank you for your page move on Digby Morton. He was most widely known by that name, and while it is relevant to know that his official first name was Henry, it is not one that he particularly used professionally. Typically, article titles should be a person's most widely used/recognized name, this is why we don't insist on Norma Jean Baker or Marion Morrison or Barbara Mary Quant or Edwin Hardy Amies or Raymond Clark (fashion designer). I have reverted the page move.

WP:NCBIO is a helpful house-style article, and perhaps the most relevant section on that page is WP:NICKNAME (even though I wouldn't say "Digby Morton" is really a nickname) as the relevant line from that is The name used most often to refer to a person in reliable sources is generally the one that should be used as the article title, even if it is not the person's "real" name. Anyway, thank you for your contributions so far (even if they are mostly outside my specialist fields!), and I hope you continue contributing! :-) Mabalu (talk) 17:11, 20 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
