He Savvy, I see you have done your first editing in "mainspace", on a real wikipedia page. Your doing well in terms of editing technique and referencing and adding useful info. Allow me however also to give some comments and suggestions:

  • Take care with wp:close paraphrasing. the top section you added is almost copy pasted from the source. Both the structure and the literal text are still visible. That is not allowed, and you have all freedom to write and organize things in your own words.
  • I saw you made an organization/organisation change. In principle, the English of the first user(s) (British, American, Indian) should be retained, in order to prevent edit warring between English and American users on this. However, the article needs to be consistently written in one style. I am not a native speaker, and it is possible that your change was just made to make the English consistent and that I missed that. In that case: perfect!
  • Take care that you don't mix up the Hague Child Abduction Convention and this convention... I think the use of the compliance reports in this article might be off....

And then a suggestion: you may want to see on the Hague Conference website if you can find some statistics (worldwide, not a single country!) of the convention; it may also be helpful to get some info on main "exporting" and "importing" states; the shift to mainly "special needs" adoptions, as well as special adoptions coming up (related to same sex marriage etc); as long as there are documents that relate this not to adoption in general, but to the convention....

That's it; please don't be discouraged by the comments; you can't and don't need to do everything right in one go... If you have further comments or questions, just let me know by replying on this page. L.tak (talk) 20:52, 14 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
