Hello, bonjour, salut, privyet, konichiwa, shalom, hola, salve, sala'am, bonjourno, and hi! I'm Sputnik. I noticed that you were new and/or have yet to receive any messages so I just thought I'd pop in to say "hello". We're glad to have you in our community! I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it's so big but we won't bite so Be Bold and get what you know down in microchips! If you do make a mistake, that's fine, we'll assume good faith and just correct you: it'll take a few seconds maximum! I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make goofy mistakes, here is what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. Palestine

I saw you were recently involved with this page's discussion, as such I was wondering if you think it is necessesary to have half of this page devoted to History, I understand why we should go back to Ottoman times but should we really go all the way back to Roman times especially since we already have a History of Palestine article.- Moshe Constantine Hassan Al-Silverburg | Talk 02:10, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

In case we Palestinians ever get annihilated (something I fear is getting closer and closer every day), I hope to convince you of something:

I realize that Israelis usually lump all Arabs together - but the truth is that I can tell you as a Palestinian that I feel no close relation to the native (non-refugee) people of the surrounding countries. It's really funny when you write "they (Palestinians) have not been allowed to become citizens of the Countries where they currently reside, they have remained 'Palestinian' by default" - because even if they were made citizens - as in Jordan - they would still remain Palestinian by ethnicity. Also, let me ask you personally - would YOU want to become a citizen of a place like Saudi Arabia or Egypt? My guess is no - and I can tell you that I wouldn't either - for reasons that are probably very similar to yours.

So I hope that you realize that most Palestinians completely abhor Arab regimes. The one thing Hamas has done once it got elected is try to reach out to the West (okay okay and Iran but hey, they offered money), whereas Fatah leaders always went to kiss Arab leader's asses and ask for money. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, as a Palestinian, please don't make the mistake of lumping all the 'Arabs' together in one basket. I've known enough Israelis to know that what I am saying may sound very strange to you and contrary to everything you have learned, but you hopefully learn new things every day. Begin spillover

Hey Sangil... Re: Post-Zionism v. Left Zionism... You are, of course, correct to point out that there are elements of left zionism which advocate the perspective which I presented within our mini-debate on the Begin page, but, at the same time, I do believe that a few specific post-zionist figures have done a far better job at provoking a global debate about past and current Israeli policies than any Israeli political parties/figures... I support this, just as I support the existance of an equally embittered group of American social critics, for I think that every nation should have a school of thought which dredges through the dirt of the past and present and tries to make society discuss the implications of their past and current actions. Some of the post-zionists surely go to far in their implications, but I think that others (including, in his better moments, Benny Morris) simply help individuals learn about Israel's "warts"--and, as we all know, every nation has it's own warts to hide (mine, in particular... but that's another story entirely). If and when the post-Zionists go too far (and I'm sure that Benny Morris has done just that, at some time or other), what the hell... He's given you a damn good reason to grab a Goldstar.

In the end, I think that the more egregious arguements which are presented by the post-zionists will be ignored (for two reasons: 1) the majority of the Western world will disagree with them; and 2) the anti-semites are still preoccupied with the Protocols of the Elders of Zion), but their stronger arguements will remind people of a fact frequently forgotten over here in the States--the fact that the Palestinians are human, regardless of what a specific leader or movement claims to stand for. I have no doubt that you know that, but I have a feeling that you may be giving the rest of the world a little too much credit (again, I come from a nation in which less than half of the population can locate on a map the nation that we are currently at war with)...

Anyway. I hope that Abbas goes through with his referendum and is able to carry the bulk of the Palestinian population with him. Until our next wiki debate, (Mingus ah um 08:16, 30 May 2006 (UTC))

If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. Another user subsequently tagged it with {{GFDL-presumed}} and, for some time, it has existed on Wikipedia under the assumption that you created the image and you agreed to license it under the GFDL.
