Master Amirchand

Master Amirchand was born in Delhi in 1869. He was well versed in Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit and English. In childhood itself, the love for country and religion rose in his heart. He was highly influenced by the discourses of his swami Ramtirth. Amirchand was courageous and also adept in keeping secrets. Virtues expected in the revolutionary were present in him.
In 1912, instead of Calcutta, The British government made Delhi as the capital of India. on 23.12.1912. Lord Hardinge the new victory entered Delhi in a procession with much pomp and show. A bomb was dropped from some where. The Viceroy was saved but his bodyguard died on the spot.
After Delhi, they were bomb explosions in Dhaka and Lahore too. Investigations where carried out in various location of Calcutta, Delhi and Punjab. Amirchand's house was searched. In the investigation, pieces of bombs were found. This lead to he was sentenced to death. On 16.05.1915 Amirchand was hanged. Although his physical presents was effaced, the saga of his sacrifice has been immortalised.
