Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:The School of Advanced Dynamic Education (SADE)

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:The School of Advanced Dynamic Education (SADE), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.

Request reason:

I understand that my block was due to my username being associated with the brand and the language of my first article being too similar to advertising a brand. I had not yet submitted the article, thinking that I could come back to it after I had some time to reword it to be neutral and not representing the brand, however I realize now that my draft is publicly available, and violates the rules regardless. I apologize for my misunderstanding. I am a volunteer at SADE because I believe in the cause, and am not compensated or receive any benefit from the organization. Moving forward, I will continue to provide necessary edits to articles to ensure accuracy and credibility, and with SADE's article, I will review the guidelines once more and work with other users in the Teahouse to understand how best to post the article so that it can contribute in a positive way to Wikipedia's encyclopedic content base. Thank you for your consideration. Sadeclasses (talk) 03:20, 27 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

While you are a volunteer, your organization's website lists you as Marketing Manager, so you have a deeper association than mere interest in the organization's work. There are no private areas on Wikipedia(though some are harder to find than others); all edits to every page on Wikipedia(articles, talk pages, drafts, discussion, etc.) appear in the Recent Changes feed. You seem to have a common misunderstanding about what Wikipedia is for. Wikipedia is not a place for an organization to tell the world about itself, what it does, and what it considers to be its own history. A Wikipedia article about an organization must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about it, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable organization. Wikipedia is not interested in what organizations say about themselves, only in what those completely unconnected to the organization choose to say about it, like news reports with analysis. Any article about an organization should not merely document its existence and activities. Articles are typically written when independent editors take note of a topic in independent sources and choose on their own to write about it; representatives of a topic trying to force the issue are not often successful, because their goals are fundamentally different and it is difficult for them to set aside what they know about their organization and only write based on what others say about it(without press releases, interviews, or announcements). Please read conflict of interest. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your organization. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road. If you are interested in being a general contributor and editing about topics unrelated to your conflict of interest, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 09:04, 27 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

To clarify in my previous response, when I stated "I will continue to provide necessary edits to articles to ensure accuracy and credibility" I wasn't referring to SADE's - rather the other articles on Wikipedia. I have enjoyed being able to help with the copyediting on articles in particular, and plan to continue doing so if I am unblocked. I want to get more involved with Wikipedia's community as well, and learn more about the guidelines of writing articles and contributing to the community in a positive way.

Save for salvaging the content that was written in the SADE article for other use, I don't plan to pursue posting it until the organization has a more notable status - which won't be in the near future. Sadeclasses (talk) 12:28, 27 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
