I am a longtime (3yr+) but somewhat inexperienced Wiki editor. I am an art lover and history buff. I love quirky often overlooked facts. I am also a person of color, supporter of women rights, and ally of LGBTQ community; so I hope to increase diversity and representation of individuals and organizations that support these communities on Wiki. I typically have made small edits to Wikipedia in the mainspace. Recently, I helped to correct, then resubmit information on Williamsburg Biannual draft for another editor who is unknown to me. The entry that I resubmitted was accepted and published in Wiki mainspace. This was my first time editing in draft space, and I was excited that I helped get a new article published. After this, I tried to help more drafts get published, moving related drafts into the mainspace. However, then I read that reviewers have at least 500 accepted edits. Realizing my error after the fact, I moved the articles back to draft space. - I hope I did not jeopardize these drafts. - I understand the Wiki's comments about notoriety, but notoriety and recognition are exactly what holds many women and people of color back from advancement and/or recognition for their work. The arts and design projects are often published citing only the company/firm/organization without attribution of the key individuals. Notoriety in Wiki in these situations becomes a double-edge sword. Of course, individuals must be accomplished and their work and life contributions should have public impact, and organizations should be of consequence, but if the projects are published without full attribution, it becomes easy to continue to overlook. My only comment is that it is easier to make edits in mainspace, but I would like to help draftspace. SWard26368 (talk) 14:25, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
All of the drafts you published seemed connected to the Biannual. Notoriety is not relevant here, they can be improved if they meet the guidelines. But if you have a connection to the space and the parties, you must declare it. Please see WP:COI and WP:UPE. Star Mississippi 01:42, 18 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
