Far-right

Hello! Have you seen Talk:The Epoch Times? There are quite a few sources saying that its far right. Polygnotus (talk) 22:37, 30 May 2024 (UTC)

I received free copies in the past and decided to subscribe. I consider myself very Conservative and don't think the Epoch Times to be "far right". I consider them to be quite fair. I am not a fan of the term "far right". I think "left", "right", "liberal", and "conservative" are sufficient and that people that use that term are the same ones that call people "commies" and "Nazis". "There are quite a few sources saying that its far right". On Wikipedia we (should/try to) follow WP:RELIABLE sources. For example, The Guardian is generally considered reliable. And since they (and many other sources that are considered reliable) write stuff like ...the Epoch Times, a far-right newspaper known for climate denial... Wikipedia states the same. There is an extensive list of sources in the References section and lots of debates on the talkpage and the talkpage archives about this. Please note that Wikipedia is biased. Objective reality is a joke. Also note that Wikipedia is not censored and may contain stuff people strongly dislike or object to. Polygnotus (talk) 07:57, 31 May 2024 (UTC)

After reading your reply I did a search on whether The Guardian was left or right. Several sites described them as being left or very left. I guess they are "reliable" if you also lean left. From your perspective they might be far left. Everything is relative and the idea of objective truth is a trap for stupid people. The interesting thing is that Wikipedia would also be quite offensive to the kind of people who dislike GMOs (e.g. Genetically_modified_organism#Controversy), nuclear power (e.g. Nuclear power debate) and like communism (e.g. Mass killings under communist regimes & Crimes against humanity under communist regimes). "From your perspective they might be far left." I don't use them and thought the Guardians was the new name for the Cleveland Indians. Online the only news site I use is Fox. I am pretty sure you get your news from CNN, MSNBC, PBS, NPR, the NYT, and Washington Post. I prefer my sources, but won't denigrate yours. It is funny how people on the left tend to be the nasty ones. I don't always agree with Fox, but find them to be fairer than the ones I just mentioned. If you use a metaphor you can't then take it literally (unless perhaps for comedic effect). What I am saying is that I will choose my own opinions and sources of information, irrespective of which side of the political spectrum they are associated with, and you are invited to also broaden your horizons.
