Your VandalProof Application edit

Dear RyJones,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that at this time you do not meet the minimum requirement of 250 edits to mainspace articles (see under main here). Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. --frothT C 05:36, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

22nd Amendment edit

You deleted some vandalism from the 22nd Amendment page. In future, it's probably better to actually revert to a pre-vandalism version, because you can (and in these edits did) miss some of the subtler things that the vandal did (for instance, at the same time that they were replacing some text with the word "Nazi" they were also changing "World War II" to "World War I"). aout your revert edit

you missed one revision at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Rock_music&diff=prev&oldid=102442076

perhaps there is a bug in VandalProof :) AzaToth 15:18, 22 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Arock edit

Thanks for that. However, I was only on that article to revert vandalism. In fact, for some bizarre reason it has been vandalized constantly tonight, by a person operating on a server that can change IPs. So I have had to temporarily protect the page from edits by new and unregistered users. I probably won't have time to actually expand the article any time soon, as I spend most of my time here fighting vandalism and working on political articles. But you are welcome to expand it, as I think you're an old enough user that the protection shouldn't give you a problem. the protection lasts 5 days. By the way, I'm in Northern California, and I definitely have enjoyed my trips to Oregon and may move there someday. Academic Challenger (talk) 06:23, 2 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
