Proposed deletion of Time of Imam Mahdi

edit

The article Time of Imam Mahdi has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unencyclopedic; appears to be original research

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. More info about deletion

edit

Hey, Rummanibni, I just wanted to give you some more information about the deletion process at Wikipedia. First of all, the option I originally chose was called proposed deletion; basically, if the deletion nomination stands for ten days, then the article gets deleted. You stopped this by removing the tag from the article (which is perfectly fine!) So, the next step is discussion at Articles for deletion, where editors will comment on whether they think the article should be deleted. You are more than welcome to join this conversation; you can find it here. It's usually a seven-day discussion, so you should have plenty of time, although they can be closed earlier if the outcome is obvious. It's also important to note that it's not a pure vote: the end decision is made by judging the strength of the arguments, rather than the number of people on either side. But again, you're more than welcome to contribute to the decision-making process.

So much for the procedural part of it. The issues with your article specifically boil down to two main ones. The first is copyright. I don't doubt that you are the original author, but Wikipedia is pretty specific about the kind of materials it can accept. Any text used in Wikipedia has to be licensed under the terms of what's called the CC-BY-SA license, and it's difficult for us to prove that text has been appropriately licensed when it's on other websites with a different license. It's a pretty complicated issue, but the article has a simpler, bigger problem. It looks like it's your own original work. One of the policies that we have on Wikipedia is verifiability, and the short version of this is that anything we put in our articles has to be backed by independent, reliable sources. One of the consequences of this is that Wikipedia does not use original research in its articles. If it's your own original work that hasn't been published anywhere else, then there aren't going to be reliable sources that cover it. And since there aren't reliable sources for it, we just can't have it.

I know that this is a lot of information to throw at you, and Wikipedia can be a pretty complicated place, especially for someone who's just starting out. Try not to get discouraged! Lots of people have their articles deleted; it's no big deal! If you need any clarification of the info above, or if you have any other questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them at my talk page. You can also ask any questions you have at the Teahouse, which is a place designed for new users to get help with Wikipedia. Thanks! Writ Keeper 05:34, 23 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
