Speedy deletion nomination of Franklin Evans

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Franklin Evans requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. The right way to do things

edit

You recently created an article titled Franklin Evans that had no content, and was thus nominated for speedy deletion under WP:CSD#A1 (an article with insufficient detail to allow other editors to determine the proper subject of the article). You protested the deletion, noting that you are writing this article for a university writing course. Using Wikipedia as part of a university curriculum is a wonderful idea, and is even encouraged (see WP:School and university projects). However, even under such circumstances, articles that are created must meet the inclusion guidelines of all Wikipedia articles. To remedy this problem, I would suggest that you create your new article in your own user space (for example, at User:Rpkell321/Franklin Evans). Pages in your own userspace are generally immune from speedy deletion unless they are blatant advertising, copyright violations or attack pages. Short of any of those infractions, your own user pages will be left alone and you can develop the article at your own pace. Then, when it is complete, you may move it to the main article space for evaluation by the rest of the community. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:36, 22 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
