Scope

edit

It needs to be clear that the artcile is about the novel, the introduction of the Duke edition is a source on the novel that can be cited as such (WP:CITE), it is not itself the topic and comments on that very introduction that cannot be cited, are out of scope. Material on Whitman itself needs to be balanced between here and Walt Whitman. --Tikiwont (talk) 13:50, 29 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. The "introduction" section seems very irrelevant. --Midnightdreary (talk) 14:43, 1 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Looking at the previous contributors to the article, it looks like it is part of a class project. -Midnightdreary (talk) 14:48, 1 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

- Indeed, it is part of a class project, and we're working on improving it. Assistance meeting the standards of the wiki community will be appreciated. I changed the "introduction" section into a "contexts" section since it is really a discussion of the historical and biographical contexts for the novel. 24.59.181.80 (talk) 19:53, 1 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm pretty sure there's a guide somewhere on Wikipedia on how to write your first article (anyone have a link handy?). I'd start there, before trying to write an article. This should not be the same method for writing a book report for class. --Midnightdreary (talk) 18:34, 3 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
