Please review WP:TONE. You have been adding parentheticals and contractions to articles. Generally these are not encyclopedic in style and should be avoided. Thanks! DonIago (talk) 13:53, 10 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Rose, you are still doing this on Family Guy episode articles. Please don't. Davejohnsan (talk) 14:13, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Brian the Bachelor, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Starlet. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm Doniago. I wanted to let you know that I undid your recent edits to the Mars University plot summary because they added a significant amount of unneeded detail. Please avoid excessive detail and high word counts when editing plot summaries/synopses. You may read the plot summary edit guides to learn more about contributing constructively to plot summaries/synopses. There are also specific guidelines for films, musicals, television episodes, anime/manga, novels and non-fiction books. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. -- DonIago (talk) 14:33, 29 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. Your edits have been reverted or removed.

Do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively may result in your being blocked from editing. You have been warned multiple times to avoid the use of contractions as discussed at WP:TONE. I can only assume that you are continuing to do so intentionally. Please stop. DonIago (talk) 13:21, 6 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Just reverted two edits you made today in which you added contractions. You've been warned countless times by numerous editors that this is not allowed. This is disruptive editing and can result in your account being blocked if you don't stop immediately. Davejohnsan (talk) 22:21, 15 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Contractions

edit

Please stop adding inappropriate contractions to articles as you did here. Consider this your final warning. If an editor reports to me that you have yet again added improper contractions, I will interrupt your editing privileges. Articles must be written in professional tone, and that means we don't use casual speech. Additionally, I removed the content you added because it is based on your personal interpretation. We're not interested in your inferences about the series. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:28, 1 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for repeated submission of improper contractions into articles contrary to MOS:CONTRACTION, as you did at Mom's the Word. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. Deliberately disruptive?

edit

Hi, are you being deliberately disruptive? Your account was blocked in September because you kept making problematic edits that are contrary to WP:TONE yet as I look through your edits since then, you still seem to be going out of your way to introduce contractions like here, where you also inexplicably put quotes around the word "literally". Or more contractions here. Or here where you seem to think that parentheticals are to be used frivolously. I don't understand how to communicate the problem to you, and various other editors have tried, which leads me to believe that either you are not competent to edit here, or you're being deliberately disruptive. If there's another option, I'm happy to hear it, but if you keep editing like this, we admins will have not choice but to block you to protect the encyclopedia. Perhaps you should consider coming back in a few years when your writing skills have improved? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:57, 21 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. More contractions and personal interpretations, more contractions, interpretive content and needless parentheticals. Interpretive analysis of what the series "implies", etc. You're creating more work for people to fix for no justifiable reason and I can only assume you've never read Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Television#Cast and characters information. Character sections shouldn't consist of walls of interpretive content and rehashing of series plots. Brief summaries are appropriate, but articles should focus on real-world information, not WP:INUNIVERSE information. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:05, 1 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Adding another useless parenthetical after your most recent block is not the way to demonstrate that you are a capable editor. Here's a tip: If you feel an urge to add content to an article by cramming it in between parentheses, avoid that urge. Figure out a way to incorporate the content by rephrasing a sentence, or using other normal punctuation. Parentheticals are typically misused, overused, and the make articles look like crap.   Please stop making disruptive edits, as you did at Take a Letter (Family Guy).

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. If I see you deliberately adding contractions in edits you make, I will be reporting you, once again, to administrators and your account will likely get another block. You have been disruptive repeatedly on this website and it is now getting really old. Do yourself a favor, if you're interested in continuing to edit on Wikipedia, and knock it off. Friendly advice

edit

Once again, I've noticed you adding several contractions into articles. You are being opposed by multiple editors (including an administrator) on this plus there is a whole Wikipedia policy based on not adding contractions, MOS:CONTRACT. You seem to be a great editor, but the contractions seem to continue to be a struggle. I'm not here to give you a formal warning or anything, just a bit of friendly advice to stop adding contractions into articles, otherwise at this point you are incredibly likely to be blocked if you continue down the path you are. Again, most of your edits are very good and I think you would be a great editor, if not for the continual contraction adding. So my recommendation is to continue making the good edits that you are making, but stop adding the contractions, even if you feel it sounds right or looks better. Unfortunately, if I see you continuing to add contractions, I will have to report you to an administrator, since you've gotten plenty of warnings now, and continuing to add them shows me you are being deliberately disruptive to the encyclopedia. Again, you are a fantastic editor and it would be really a shame to lose you as an editor, so please, stop adding the contractions if you want to show people that you are a good, constructive editor. Regards, Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor 21:58, 9 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistently making disruptive edits. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Cyphoidbomb (talk) 23:33, 29 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Indefinitely does not mean forever, but it does mean for the foreseeable future. Wikipedia requires its editors to edit competently and according to our various manuals of style. Your apparent inability to write in a professional tone and specifically to avoid contractions, is disruptive to the encyclopedia, and so I have interrupted your editing privileges to protect the project. Even after another user gave you a bit of friendly advice, you made these edits[1][2][3]. I also believe that you are going out of your way to deliberately be disruptive, like here where you make the following changes:

"Hart is so hated" → "Hart's so hated"
"Hart is appalled" → "Hart's appalled"
"Margaret Foster is no longer an alcoholic" → "Margaret Foster's no longer an alcoholic"
"Maria is now back" → "Maria's now back"
"Tinsworthy is so impressed" → "Tinsworthy's so impressed"
"it is revealed" → "it's revealed"
"Hart is abducted" → "Hart's abducted"

Each one of these changes represents in my estimation a conscious decision to deviate from professional tone, and the changes, when viewed against your history of problems in this area, are indistinguishable from vandalism. You are free to request an unblock, but you will need to convince a reviewing administrator that you understand what you were blocked for, as well as provide some sort of plan for how you will edit differently in the future. Note that you are not welcome to edit at Wikipedia while this account is blocked, and any edit that can be attributed to you can be reverted by any editor with no regard for whether it was useful or not.
