Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 23:20, 28 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Niagara Falls edit

edit

Hello, your recent addition of information to the Niagara Falls article appears to be in violation of the encyclopedia's policy regarding inclusion of "travelogue" or "guidebook" type material as found in WP:NOTTRAVEL. It's also worth mentioning, that the information that you provided did not include a reliable reference as required in WP:VERIFY. cheers Deconstructhis (talk) 22:56, 30 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I inadvertently briefly placed the wrong template here regarding a lack of referencing, I apologize for that, however, in my opinion the greatest problem with the material continues to be its travel/transportation "guide" nature and as such is inappropriate in Wikipedia itself. I notice that Wikitravel already has fairly detailed information available in their Niagara Falls entry, in my opinion that's the appropriate venue for it. I know your intentions are good, in terms of trying to improve the article, but existing Wiki policy is fairly straight forward in discouraging the inclusion of the type of material that you're continuing to repost. cheers Deconstructhis (talk) 04:05, 31 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

WP:3RR warning

edit

Your last edit summary was deceptive as you haven't made any edits on the talk page and you are edit warring. Please read WP:3RR which you have just violated. Vsmith (talk) 18:19, 31 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

The edits to the talk page were actually made, and they are available at Talk:Niagara_Falls#Transportation_guide. Your confusion appears to stem from the fact that I saved the edit summary "information not the same as Travel Guide, please see talk" before I saved the talk edits themselves. Sorry for the confusion.

Muslims in Puerto Rico

edit

Thanks for your edit about this at User talk:Wtmitchell#Muslims in Puerto Rico. I have responded there so as not to fragment the discussion. Cheers, Boracay Bill (talk) 05:20, 11 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Arellano-felix.jpg

edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Arellano-felix.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:38, 27 July 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 22:38, 27 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the observation. I have provided a link to the site at the US Dept of State. I have left the tag on the image untouched so you may verify it first. Please remove the tag once you had a chance to verify the source. Take care, Rob99324 (talk) 00:13, 28 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Great! Thanks. I've verified that the source is indeed public domain and I've removed the deletion tag, adding the correct copyright tag. Thanks for adding the link! –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 01:25, 28 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ponce City Hall

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Ponce City Hall, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.enciclopediapr.org/ing/article.cfm?ref=09022003. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. The copyright violations have been removed. Thanks for the message.Rob99324 (talk) 03:14, 11 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I came to post an encouraging type note, as I was happy to see some development in Puerto Rico NRHP articles, but then I see this copyright issue being raised here. And, I am sorry, but I don't agree with you that the copyright violations had been removed. Please see my comments at Talk:Ponce City Hall where I compare Puerto Rico encyclopedia to your cleaned up text, for one sentence. Based on my quick review, it appears to me that you should consult guidelines about wp:plagiarism as well as wp:copyright violation in wikipedia. Perhaps you are trying to write by first cutting-and-pasting text from another website, and then editing it to make it somewhat different. However, I strongly recommend that you do not do that. It will almost certainly constitute plagiarism if you work that way. Instead, get and read sources, and then put things entirely into your own words. I apologize if I may be assessing this wrong, based on a non-random sample. But, your reputation as an editor is at stake, and you will lose the privilege of editing in wikipedia if you violate copyright and/or plagiarism guidelines, so I advise you to be careful now. To remove questions about the Ponce City Hall article, I have restarted the article from scratch. doncram (talk) 22:57, 11 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
To respond to your comment at my talk page, I appreciate your stating a concern to maintain high standards. I wasn't making any "threat" to start "machinery" rolling, and I have no "political" interest. I would like to see the Puerto Rico topics developed, and I would be glad to work with you if you are interested. doncram (talk) 23:37, 11 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Museo de la Masacre de Ponce

edit

On another note, I noticed you created an article at Museo de la Masacre de Ponce. Perhaps we could work cooperatively to develop this? I identified it previously as possibly one of the most important NRHP Puerto Rico articles to develop, and see you might think similarly. I have collected a copy of its NRHP application document. Since you started the article yesterday, i could add more material, and perhaps we could get it up to the point of meeting wikipedia's criteria for front-page coverage in the wp:DYK section. doncram (talk) 23:32, 11 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Negative. We obviously cannot work together. Suggest like elsewhere you start it all over. Regards, Rob99324 (talk) 23:35, 11 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Okay, whatever. FYI, noticing this from somewhere else, you can use the more specific {{PuertoRico-NRHP-stub}} template rather than {{NRHP-stub}} in PR NRHP articles. doncram (talk) 00:29, 12 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading File:Ponce.OGG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FASTILYsock(TALK) 21:38, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
