Another AWB compile problem

Trying to compile 9024 and get I get this error when compiling UnitTests

  • Warning TI0000: Primary interop assembly 'stdole, Version=7.0.3300.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' is already registered for type library 'C:\Windows\SysWOW64\stdole2.tlb'.
  • Warning TI0000: The type library importer could not convert the signature for the member 'DISPPARAMS.rgvarg'.
  • Warning TI0000: The type library importer could not convert the signature for the member 'DISPPARAMS.rgdispidNamedArgs'.
  • At least one of the arguments for 'IActiveIMMApp.GetDefaultIMEWnd' cannot be marshaled by the runtime marshaler. Such arguments will therefore be passed as a pointer and may require unsafe code to manipulate. (TI0000)

mshtml

FYI... When I compile using the system's MSHTML.dll file instead of Microsoft.mshtml.dll, an interop.MSHTML.dll file gets created and put into the bin directory. If interop.MSHTML.dll is not in the same directory as AWB's executable, the same click problems happen that is being discussed on AWB's talk page.

Egads, I compiled 9024 this morning and now you are at 9041. You and Reedy are quick. Bgwhite (talk) 06:05, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

OK, so I'm going to see if we can dynamically check if the required DLL is available, and ensure single/double click behaviour still works if it isn't. Rjwilmsi 06:33, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

Hello

Can you please go over the article in my snadbox with the AWB? It's in the works. Thx. Proudbolsahye (talk) 18:04, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

Done (ignore the edit summary I used). Thanks Rjwilmsi 18:58, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
Awesome! Which bot is the one that puts hyphens in the proper places of the isbn numbers? Proudbolsahye (talk) 19:06, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

Template parameter case changes

Hi. I happened to notice this edit. Can't template parameters be made case-insensitive fairly easily? This kind of change seems silly, but perhaps there's background/context I'm missing. --MZMcBride (talk) 03:24, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Perhaps they could, it has been mentioned at Module_talk:Citation/CS1/Whitelist#Making_all_parameters_case_insensitive but I think it would cause a lot more problems/confusion than it would solve and would need a lot of bot code changes. Capitalisation is a minority problem in those listed at Category:Pages with citations using unsupported parameters. Rjwilmsi 06:57, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Page number "fix"

Please explain what the page number in brackets, that is, "[406]", means in this edit. I have never seen that notation before. Jc3s5h (talk) 17:14, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

I've seen it used elsewhere but don't know if it comes from one of the formal manuals of style: for papers over multiple pages it is "start––end [specific info]" so in the diff the paper is on pages 404––411 and the specific page for the cited information is 406. If you think the simpler |pages=404––411 is better for this cite then feel free to change it to that, most journal papers would be cites this way. I'm using this format to avoid losing information. Removing page numbers from citations

I don't see edits like this as appropriate or productive. Presumably you're doing this because |pages=540 has a very trivial inconsistency between pages (plural) and a page number (singular). This might be fixable with a simple |page=540, although obviously I can't prove such to be appropriate without checking the source. However deleting the page numbers altogether, as you or your 'bot are doing, loses information and damages the citation overall.

Tagging things as "this is broken" is rarely a great improvement, unless it does something in the short term to also fix the underlying problem. Removing significant content from a cite doesn't aid such fixing. Andy Dingley (talk) 16:07, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

The inconsistency in that diff is that the citations had both |page= and |pages= specified. Only one can be use per citation. It's not the singular/plural problem you suggest. So in that diff |pages= was excess, so could be removed. The resulting citation's display didn't change. Of course there are other scenarios in Category:Pages with citations using conflicting page specifications where the problem/fix is different and I'm treating them on merit. Rjwilmsi 16:22, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
OK, thanks. I hadn't noticed the extra |page= param (even after you mentioned it, which is why I always break these templates across lines, for readability) Andy Dingley (talk) 20:59, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Not a typo

Hello,
your script seems to be ignoring the {{not a typo}} template. --hydrox (talk) 07:34, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Apologies for that. rev 9081 HideText.Hide to include {{Not a typo}} fixes the AWB logic. Thanks Rjwilmsi 08:16, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
Great! Thank you, hydrox (talk) 08:19, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi, would you like to help with H7N9 bird flu?

Hi,

I'm writing to recent participants on the influenza page. I think it's important to cover H7N9, without making it overblown or overstating the case. Any time you can spare to help with the research and/or the editing will be most appreciated. Thanks. Cool Nerd (talk) 16:18, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
