Proposed deletion of Gingerbread Man (song)

edit

The article Gingerbread Man (song) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No text. No references. Does not meet song notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Request reason:

Please unblock me i am needed to edit on wikipedia for my school project and i do know that people in my class have been blocked for violating the rules of wikipedia but i am more experienced then them just a little bit so please it would be nice if you can unblock me

Decline reason:

This account is not blocked directly. Probably, you are prevented from editing at the school as these blocked vandals are still accessing Wikipedia. Unfortunately, until they stop doing so, it's unlikely you'll be able to edit from the school. You are welcome to request an unblock by following the instructions which appear when you attempt to edit, but unfortunately it's not likely to help while they continue attacking Wikipedia. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  Hello Replaybutton, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Gingerbread Man (song) have been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 17:02, 21 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Diannaa Hello i'm very sorry i am still new to wikipedia and i am using wikipedia for a school project but sadly other people from my school have violated the rules for wikipedia and my IP address has been blocked so its hard for me to edit. Thats why i edit a bunch of things at the same time so i can get it all done in a matter of hours. But please be free to add or change any mistakes in Gingerbread Man and please even add sources and make the page just tad bigger. Thank you for telling me though i will make sure to read everything you sent ~ Kind Regards Replaybutton (talk) Use {{re|Replaybutton}}

Someone please unblock me its needed for a very important reason if my message is seen please explain to me. ~ Kind Regards

Decline reason:

You've been abusing the Wikipedia project by using multiple accounts in disruptive way. That is not allowed here. Vanjagenije (talk) 12:40, 24 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Vanjagenije i have said before that i was apart of the group Hercules123!. but we have all the same experience so our edits might have been the same. We also all edit from the same place (school) and we are all a group for our english editing class but we found out that you can't be a group on Wikipedia so we went seperate but still edited the same things. (Songs) and thats what we where told to edit but we where still getting new to it so then we found out that we had to add reliable sources to our edits so we learned that but we where blocked on all of our accounts for ETERNITY! and thats what mad us abuse people because we where angry that we kept on getting blocked when we where adding reliable sources and still learning but we obviously got blocked because we didn't know what we where doing and since the others have been blocked but my account needs to be unblocked because i desperately need to edit just to finish my school project because i have read some of the music forums and i am now starting to get "what can be on there, what can not be on there" so please consider it Replaybutton (talk) Use {{re|Replaybutton}}

Sounds like your instructor should've done a better job explaining Wikipedia behaviour guidelines before turning you loose to edit. Sounds like your instructor also needs to decide what alternate projects you (all) can do since you've lost your editing privileges. But that's between you and the instructor and not our direct concern here. —C.Fred (talk) 02:27, 25 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

C.Fred That is way more helpful and yes i don't really know who my instructor is but i am happy that you agree i just need to find out who my instructor is. Replaybutton (talk) Use {{re|Replaybutton}}
