Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello, RandomArticleEdits, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Darylgolden! You might think that Wikipedia is near completion and doesn't need your help, but that's not true! Wikipedia may seem to be running smoothly on the surface, but we still have many backlogs and problems that need attention, and I would like to thank you so much for helping out. Here are some pages to guide you!

Wikipedia requires editors who can perform different roles - what would you like to do?

Y Would you like to help to correct the spelling and grammar of some pages? Here's a list of articles you can copyedit! Here's a guide of how to do that.
Y Would you like to update and increase the accuracy of some of our pages? Here's a list of outdated articles! Remember to cite your sources (This is a helpful guide to get you started).
Y Would you like to help make Wikipedia better by fighting vandalism? You can and it's very appreciated! Here's a quick and simple guide, written by User:Romtam.
Y Are you a writer or an expert in a field and would like to lengthen a few of our existing articles? Click here for a list of short articles you can expand, sorted by topic.
Y Would like to improve one of our articles in a specific topic and interest? Choose a WikiProject to join here!
N Are you a company owner, employee, person, or writer paid to promote pages about you/your client's page or company? Please note that we are not a means of self-promotion. See our guidelines on autobiographies, notability and conflict of interest.

I still need more help!

Again, welcome aboard! Darylgolden(talk) 23:53, 5 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello RandomArticleEdits! Admittedly, the message above is a templated message - but I would like to thank you personally for editing Wikipedia. It's really quite rare to see new editors here. I see that you have an interest in copyediting, so you can find a list of pages to edit here! I know this doesn't quite fit your name as you won't be pressing the random article button, but this is quite a bit more efficient. I also recommend playing the Wikipedia adventure to learn how to edit. Again, welcome! Darylgolden(talk) 00:01, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello Good Sir/Dame! And thank you for the warm welcomes. I believe you underestimate the power of the darkside random number generation; taking copy edits on a random letter basis will have to do for now. RandomArticleEdits (talk) 00:26, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

RandomArticleEdits, you are invited to the Teahouse!

Hi RandomArticleEdits! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. Come join other new editors at the Teahouse! The Teahouse is a space where new editors can get help from other new editors. These editors have also just begun editing Wikipedia; they may have had similar experiences as you. Come share your experiences, ask questions, and get advice from your peers. I hope to see you there! Nathan2055 (I'm a Teahouse host)
