July 2022 edit
Hi RadleyMadish! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Betsy Johnson that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. - Hello RadleyMadish. You're edits seem to be minor to me. You changed the image in one edit, edited the structure of one sentence in another edit, and added one citation in another edit. Jon698 (talk) 22:57, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Jon698:, WP:MINOR is not what "seems" minor in the interpretation of editors. It has a very specific definition. Rephrasing, re-locating things within prose, and the addition of external link absolutely are not minor in this context. Graywalls (talk) 00:17, 17 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Graywalls: Please read the thing at the top of the page. "It is not one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, but rather intends to describe some aspect(s) of Wikipedia's norms, customs, technicalities, or practices. It may reflect varying levels of consensus and vetting." Minor edits are purely what seems minor. There is no definitive nature of minor edits. Jon698 (talk) 00:19, 17 July 2022 (UTC)
