                                                   ==Oshityani village==

Oshityani village is a village that is located about 10km west oshakati in Okaku constituency in Oshana region in the northern part of Namibia. The word Oshityani is an oshiwambo word that simply means lazy in English. According to the Kukus (Grannies) that lived the said the village was named after an old head man that was ruling by that time which was in the 1910s. The village has about 7 500 of people and this was proven by the census that took place last year 2011.

During the colonial regime there was a military base in the village and the apartheid government controlled most of the resources including a dam which by the time people of the village caught fish and sold to get a source of income. During this time people where prohibited to get fish from the dam because the South African were in charge by then. This practice still continues today and most of the people relay on that for a source of income and for themselves. The village has 90% of Oshindonga speaking people, and 10% of other Oshiwambo tribe’s speaking people that were not originated from there but either came for jobs, better schooling because they have a primary and secondary school which is Okaku primary school which is fewer meters from the village, Onengushe secondary school that is opposite the primary school and is ranked amongst the best schools in the Region and which is next to the clinic, police station, councillors officer and church etc. the people that live in this village stay in a peacefully place because they have what is called men and woman network that is working so hard and together with the cops at that place to fight against the crimes, alcohol and drug abuse and any other danger that the community might be facing.
