Speedy deletion nomination of User:ProgessiveSaber/sandbox/1

A tag has been placed on User:ProgessiveSaber/sandbox/1, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. Light novel translations
editHi! It looks like you're trying to do a fan translation for a light novel, specifically KonoSuba. This really isn't the right place for this, as it's a copyrighted novel. Fan translations of any type are kind of a grey area as far as legality goes. The original version (Japanese) is copyrighted and while technically a translation would be copyrighted as well, many companies choose to look the other way when it comes to translations since it can be a way of testing the waters to see if it would be profitable to release something in a given country or language.
The issue with posting it to Wikipedia is twofold: firstly, it poses an issue with copyright since anything published via Wikipedia would be placed under a copyright that would allow people to use it for whatever purposes they want - including selling it for profit. This would definitely run afoul of the original copyright for the light novel and honestly, some companies are really gung ho about protecting their copyright completely.
The second issue is that this isn't really what Wikipedia is meant for. It would be best to post this to WattPad, Blogger, or similar. I see that some was posted to WattPad, so it'd be best to keep it there since it would help keep it in the grey area and most importantly, relatively under the radar. I think that indexing sites like Novel Updates are about the most visible some translations tend to get. Now if these are your translations and you want to share them, you may want to talk to Baka-Tsuki, since they do fan translations in various languages and may be willing to help host works. Just be aware that once this becomes commercially available in your country all translations should be removed from public view.
