Ipatinga F.C. edit

What are your sources for changing the Ipatinga F.C. kits? AJSDA115 02:45, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I often look at the website http://www.colours-of-football.com/ for up to date football kit designs and this is where i got this one from

Using edit summaries, also date format etc edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, as you forgot on your recent edit to Brad Maylett. Please also note that dates are no longer wikilinked, and for articles about a British topic the international date format of day/month/year is used. The correct link for Witton Albion is Witton Albion F.C. which is then piped so that it appears as Witton Albion. My apologies for so many points, thank you. --♦Tangerines♦·Talk 00:31, 20 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Southport Squad - Zak Hibbert edit

Have you got a source for your removal of Zak Hibbert from the above squad? From looking on their official site I cant find anything about him, but he is listed in the team on their "new" offical site at http://www.southportfootballclub.co.uk, which is going fully live soon, and also on the excellent fan stats site http://www.southportfcstats.co.uk/ where he hasn't been mentioned as leaving and is still listed as a Southport player. Thanks Uksam88 (talk) 18:58, 21 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

A keeper, Zak Hibbert, was signed by Accrington Stanley on 20 March 2009, and was an unused sub in the league game against Exeter City the following day. He was signed according to http://www.accringtonstanley.co.uk/index.php from Burscough and previously played for as you mentioned Southport and Prescot Cables. Regards David 00:31, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

He wasn't signed from Burscough oddly. Its appeared on the SFC site today they have announced he has joined Accrington on loan as cover from them(http://www.southportfc.tv). I know that Hibbert was signed for Southport from Burscough (Liam Watson signed basically the entire team) so Accy probably have got confused there end. I've re edited the SFC page accordingly to show him out on loan. Thanks Uksam88 (talk) 11:49, 22 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Edit summary request edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary for your edits. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. July 2011 edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Bradford City A.F.C., did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. GiantSnowman 11:54, 17 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Very good logic there, apart from the fact that his official club profile quite clearly states "Nationality: English." Regards, GiantSnowman 12:09, 17 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
You mean his article which says "Darren Stephenson (born 6 March 1993)[1] is an English professional footballer who plays for Bradford City, as a striker"? How is that incorrect, given the evidence I've shown you? GiantSnowman 12:37, 17 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
No, because he was born in Jamaica. Birth place does not always determine nationality! Maik Taylor was born in Germany, Owen Hargreaves in Canada (so was I for that matter). GiantSnowman 13:04, 17 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Jake Reeves edit

Wikipedia relies on reliable sources to verify claims, especially about living people. You being at a football game has absolutely ZERO impact on Wikipedia, as that counts as original research. I suggest you read our policies and guidelines, and I also suggest you cut out the uncivil edit summaries at once. GiantSnowman 10:26, 8 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Just realised i've had dealings with you before on another another pointless argument. So im going to say this and go. People should be encouraged to report what is fact on Wikipedia rather than discouraged. Why not put a citation required, rather than remove whole factual chunks. FACT is Jake Reeves is back at Brentford. FACT is he played against Southend. FACT is he was sent off against Walsall. FACT is he saw no more first team action until a loan move to Wimbledon. ALL of which is shown on Soccerbase which IS linked to Jake Reeves' page (coincidentally the soccerbase page is not up to date! So is currently factually wrong) I enjoy regularly contributing to Wikipedia, I enjoy being able to share my enthusiasm for topics in football, cricket, biathlon and science fiction for everyone to see. After this morning that enthusiasm is going and I am left wondering why I bother with there being such totalitarian enforcement, especially at a time when there is an appeal for funds! If you want something to get you teeth stuck into, have a look at Longfleet not a single reference or link there, but all factually correct.GiantSnowman

July 2014 edit

Please do not add or change content, as you did to 2014–15 York City F.C. season, without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 23:13, 10 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately, I was in the process of putting together the data, when time and tiredness beat me last night. The data is not something that can be done in 30 mins, and I was going to return to it today. Sadly it appears that all the work that I have put into it has all been deleted which is a real shame, and I really dont have the time and energy to start it all over again. Much of the data is actually sourced from existing Wikipedia pages which can be directly linked from the listing I was putting together. Best wishes and good luck with the page.

11 July 2014 edit

Hello, appreciate your message earlier. Yes it does get a bit frustrating when people change good hard work back to how pages shouldn't be. It would be a lot easier if club seasons all had the same layout but unfortunately that is not the case, Just got to keep going and doing the good but right work. Thanks Skyblueshaun (talk) 20:57, 11 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for July 17 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Adding unsourced information to season articles edit

Please do not add unsourced information to articles as this goes against WP:V. You have to show a source for all the detail you add, not rely on a reader to go and find it for themselves. JMHamo (talk) 12:32, 21 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

There is a discussion at WT:FOOTY about season articles that you might like to read. Thanks, JMHamo (talk) 12:45, 21 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
OK in tht case will have to source every single piece of information, will take a few hours, but its already taken me a couple of hours to get this far and theres no way im going to give up all my hard work. JMHamo (talk)
I know you worked a lot on these, but you should have sought advice from the Wikipedia Football project before you began. Please refer to the consensus at WT:FOOTY. All the tables will be removed tomorrow as they are a WP:NOTSTATS violation. JMHamo (talk) 17:35, 21 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Look forget it. I really cannot be bothered with contributing anymore and will continue with my work on other sites away from Wikipedia as imagination and passion for presenting facts and detail is not welcome here. I thought Wikipedia was an opportunity for everyone to contribute and not report to some unelected Politburo committee if you want to do anything. As far as Im concerned now im out for good, and certainly will not be making any further donations as a passion for knowledge and presenting that knowledge effectively seems to have been forgotten. By the way Football Squads is not an official source, its a fans run site.
