Unfortunately, you seem to be misreading the first sentence of this article, and you seem to be trying to "fix" a problem that doesn't exist (and thereby creating an error). The article starts out with "A business (also known as an enterprise, a company, or a firm) is an organizational entity...", and that's perfectly correct grammar. You keep adding "is" before the parenthetical, and that doesn't make sense and is a mistake. "An eggplant (also known as an aubergine or a brinjal) is a purple vegetable..." is an example of another clause with the same structure, or "John Smith (also known as Johnny, Smitty, or J.S.) is an English footballer...".
