I found an orphan article that asked to be linked to places. It seemed like an appropriate place to link it to. I didn't think the link made any sense without an explanation. The explanation doesn't exist within wikipedia so I had to link to the external page. And even if you believed my link to the external page was inappropriate that was no reason to delete my link to an internal page. Plymouths 07:52, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
I didn't see your internal link, I put it back. Bicycle isn't orphaned, what are you talking about? John Reaves 08:12, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
No, Better World Club was orphaned. And thanks. Plymouths 08:23, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hybrid Car redirect

edit

Re: Can you please explain why you reversed my edit to redirect hybrid car to hybrid vehicle instead of petroleum electric hybrid vehicle? I see no discussion of this on the talk page and no justification as to why. The petroleum electric hybrid vehicle page was spun off for the type of vehicle most commonly referred to as a car (though it does also cover trains and busses). People who search for hybrid car aren't looking for information about hybrid bicycles and sailboats. Plymouths 07:38, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

I'll put it back. I had changed it because the intro to petroleum electric hybrid vehicle article is atrocious. The hybrid articles are not very well organized; The page doesn't even link to Hybrid Vehicle. Zojj 21:28, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Feel free to use any of the pictures from [1] or [2] that you need for the artcars article.Improbcat 14:39, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! I uploaded a couple (one from rhode rally and one from those cars). Let me know if I need to change the licensing attribution (or maybe you can just do that yourself?) Plymouths 09:09, 2 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
That licensing is fine. Glad you could find some usable images. Improbcat 15:08, 2 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hutman Artcars

Wow, this AfD is such a mess. I personally feel for the closing admin who is going to have to attempt to sort it out! It should be over in a few days though. Cbladey seems overwhelmed by the rules, but he has a tendency to jump right in without attempting to grasp the standard procedures. The AfD and talk page are both good examples. Even if the article is salvagable, I think deleting it would be benefitial for him, since it would allow him to focus his efforts on smaller, more manageable projects. Leebo86 17:17, 26 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

That's kinda what I was getting at when I suggested he edit something he doesn't have so much emotional involvement in first, yeah. And thanks for being so patient - my patience for the guy ran out years ago. Plymouths 17:24, 26 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I had thought it was Improbcat, but then for some reason I got the impression it wasn't. I'll go through again to figure out in exactly which post it first appeared. I wouldn't want to put words in anyone's mouth. Anyway, thanks for your considerable efforts. This is the messiest AfD I personally have ever followed. Doczilla 06:56, 31 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yep, you're right.[3] Thanks. Doczilla 07:04, 31 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

A website said he was born in Westminster, which is OC; so technically he's "from" there as well as where he currently lives. I added him in the Westminster, California article under notable residents. If you're ever down there, there's a great Vietnamese veg place called Van Hanh, really outstanding. Adrianne Wadewitz edit-a-thons in Southern New England

As you may have already heard, the Wikipedia community lost an invaluable member of the community last month. Adrianne Wadewitz was a feminist scholar of 18th-Century British literature, and a prolific editor of the site. As part of a worldwide series of tributes, New England Wikimedians, in conjunction with local institutions of higher learning, have created three edit-a-thons that will be occurring in May and June. The events are as follows:

We hope that you will be able to join us, whether you are an experienced editor or are using Wikipedia for the first time.

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
