Block edit

Hello! Thank you for alerting me to the vandalism of that IP address... sorry for the delay :(. In the future, you can go to this page to report vandalism, instead of using the helpme tag. Also, it would be a good idea to put the helpme tag on your own talk page, instead of someone else's. GofG ||| Contribs 22:16, 6 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please be careful on where you place warning messages edit

Please make sure that you place warning messages on users' talk pages, not their userpages. They will not do any good, because edits to a userpage does not give out any message that there has been a change, but edits to their talk pages will put up an orange bar notifying them that they have messages, like this one just did. An Automated Message from HagermanBot edit

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 19:01, 26 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

aargh I keep forgetting, thank you Mr. bot lmao philb 19:32, 26 March 2007 (UTC) (I made sure I signed this!!)Reply

about rage edit

Yeah, we just started the page, our friend who is the real brains behind rage has yet to inform us all that is to be encompassed in it. If you'd like to know more, wait for a day or so, and we'll have more put up. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Acrowinthemurder (talkcontribs) 20:50, 25 April 2007 (UTC).Reply

x-ray entry / rem edit

hey, im sorry you find it confusing, but the initial entry was just wrong. actually its not too easy to explain in a simple way, because there are several terms and units that can be easily mixed up. So the initial entry stated that rem is the unit for exposure to x-rays, which is just wrong. Because "Exposure" is a set term (even though it might be used coll. to express, that one is "exposed" to a certain radiation) that only applies to y and x rays ( which is actually the same thing) in air ( so not to a body ! ) and has and always had the units of "Roentgen" , not rem ( roentgen equivalent men ) . rem, though, is the unit for a thing called "Dose equivalent" , ( see also in the part with "reported dosage due to dental x-rays... -> the word "dosage" not "exposure" is used! )

Now it becomes a bit more complicated: actually indirectly ionizing radiation ( i.e. : photons and neutrons ( non-charged particles ) ) can also cause "exposure" i.e. release charged particles ( protons and electrons ) in a material and those can then cause Dose i.e. "release" energy in a material. Dose has the unit of "Radiation absorbed dose" (rad) or SI : Gy , which is J/kg.

The thing is, that different particles have different ways or "quality factors" to release their energy and this is why the unit rem is set up, which includes these quality factors. this is then the "rem" or Sv.

Since this is the value you use to compare and you are interested in in medical applications, it is right that this is stated here. I know it is confusing but i guess thats inherent in this topic. Maybe someone can come up with a better way to explain it, so that it is correct but still understandable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.63.71.173 (talk) 17:50, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of WikiProject Music with Place Names/Userbox edit

A tag has been placed on WikiProject Music with Place Names/Userbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per speedy deletion criterion G2.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- WebHamster 18:56, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I classified it as a test because you incorrectly created the page in main article space. Please see WP:USERBOX for instructions on how to do it properly. Thanks. ---- WebHamster 19:09, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
A Userbox can be created in one of three 'spaces', I'd suggest template space being the right one for use in a Wikiproject. ---- WebHamster 19:16, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have moved the page to Wikipedia:WikiProject Music with Place Names/Userbox and deleted the redirect that was created by the move. Kusma (talk) 19:48, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Music with Place Name in Title edit

A tag has been placed on Music with Place Name in Title, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Moving page edit

Anyone can move a page at any time. I'm not an admin either, but I've done it several times. Just hit the "move" tab, type in a new name, probably along the lines of User:Philipbembridge/WikiProject ..., and it'll be moved automatically. John Carter 20:17, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

MfD nomination of User:Philipbembridge/Sandbox2 edit

User:Philipbembridge/Sandbox2, a page you created, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Philipbembridge/Sandbox2 and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Philipbembridge/Sandbox2 during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. PhilB 12:54, 4 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Phil, there are speedy deletion criteria that you can use to accomplish this, unless you think there's some reason that one of them wouldn't apply? Into The Fray T/C 13:09, 4 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
No worries. For future reference, the appropriate tag would be {{Db-userreq}} for pages in the user space that you want deleted. I see it's been deleted and the MfD closed. Cheers! Into The Fray T/C 13:30, 4 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

RfC suggestion edit

I replied on my talk page, but one thing I would suggest you add to the RfC, is :#[[WP:MUSTARD]] to the Applicable policies and guidelines section, as this does have a bearing on his reasoning. I'd do it, but it probably is best if you do since you're more familiar with the issues. Also, I'd suggest that you leave a notice for the editor to know that the RfC is filed, out of courtesy. You can do this by typing {{subst:ConductDiscussion}} on the editor's talk page. ArielGold 22:05, 4 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your new article - High-rise syndrome edit

I had thought to write article on this subject. But I am too lazy. Also there is not article about 'slow motion perception'. People experience it during accidents. If possible, write article on 'slow motion perception'. Thanks. abhih 15:18, 6 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

While searching on falling cat, I had seen [this] web page which include other amusing stuff.

And you get familiar with 'slow motion perception' by reading [this] web page.

Not exactly lazzy. When I had computer, I didn't know about wikipdia. I use mobile and it is very painful to type every character. So I restricted myself to new page patrolling. It is rather easy to copy and paste deletion or other templates. Thanks. abhih 15:54, 6 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Userbox edit

See my opinion on my userpage. And I think Queen's comment is meant facetiously lol. ArielGold 23:14, 6 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Userpage fixing edit

I see you need help with your userpage. Anything in particular? Rudget 14:47, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nothing really, it just looks a mess!! Any help would be good! PhilB ~ T/C 14:48, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Do you want one like mine? Then I know what to apply. :) Rudget 14:57, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Actually I like the style of Jimbo Wales's, (have I spelt that right - Wales's wales' :-s ) just not the colour of His!
Yeah that's spelt right XD. Okay, gimme a couple of minutes. Rudget 15:01, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Done Hope you like it! Rudget 16:12, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
I've already created a header for your userpage, which you can view here. Be sure to follow the rules when you edit the page. Rudget 16:19, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Haha, that's quite alright. I'm glad you're happy. Remember to use the header if you want it! Belated Best, Rudget 16:48, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hey Philip, I fixed the header, it was all red links because of the capitalization of "Bembridge", so I fixed all the links, and I hid the subpages, as they don't exist. When/if you add one, just remove the hide code that is right before it, and move it to the next link. Cheers, ArielGold 17:24, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
I didn't know you wanted a userpage redesign, or I'd have offered lol. A lot of stuff didn't make it over to the new page so I'm adding things you had on the old one, :o) ArielGold 17:30, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'm just doing a table full of userboxes, so dont edit that one! :-) PhilB ~ T/C 17:32, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hang on, hon, all the sub pages are not in your userspace, they are in a non-existent user, with the capitalized B. Let me move all the pages to the proper place in your userspace, or it will cause issues. ArielGold 17:35, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
ah thanks chuck! I hadn't noticed! Although I did request for a bureaucrat to change it to PhilipBembridge because it was annoying me lol PhilB ~ T/C 17:37, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Urgh, are you going to be changing your name? If you are, then no need to move them. I moved two, but I'll stop if you're planning on changing your name. (And who is Chuck?) ArielGold 17:43, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sorry Ariel { puts on sad face :-( }
Everyone is chuck! its like, err... calling some one duck (eg. You al'right duck?!) or even mate (eg. are you allright mate? thank you mate!) have you not heard it? :-s PhilB ~ T/C 17:48, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
oh the wiki page says that calling some one chuck means they're an idiot (your not one!) oops PhilB ~ T/C 17:50, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hrmm, I've never heard of that, must be something done outside of America. No biggie. So are you going to be having your name changed? ArielGold 17:54, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Its k lol its very English, I thought that you might have heard of it since you are Irish (are you?) but I thought that I would have my name changed because it was so annoying seeing it spelt that way! PhilB ~ T/C 18:02, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
p.s. I hope you like your prezzie I just gave you! XD
I'm Irish in ancestry, not in place of residence :o) So have you put in a formal name change request, yes? Should I move those pages back? ArielGold 18:03, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Tis okay, I can do it (just about)! XD you go and fight vandals, here's your sword: † lol PhilB ~ T/C 18:05, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
P.s. how do I see a list of all the pages in my user space? just in case I have missed any? PhilB ~ T/C 18:07, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Okay but did you put a request in, an official one? If you did, it should have been done already. Usually they are done within hours of requesting. If you didn't put a request in, I can show you how if you need. Here is the list of your userspace pages. Oh, and thank you for the barnstar! ArielGold 18:10, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Your welcome you deserve it!! I couldn't decide whether to give you that one or the cuteness one! XD Yes I have put a proper request in, and it has been a few hours :-( but I'm Happy to wait PhilB ~ T/C 18:24, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ahhh okay cool, then it should get done today sometime. Good deal! ArielGold 18:40, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
And apologies to Rudget, I was not aware that he'd placed the request when I noticed all the links were red. Sorry! ArielGold 18:54, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
