Hi Paul Diamond of Nevis, this is Susan Hewitt, usually of New York City but currently of Nevis. Nice to see you here! My screen name is Invertzoo, and the next section is a standard welcome message for you with some useful links.

Welcome!

Hello, Pdiamondnevis, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question. Again, welcome!

A note

edit

By the way I just now did a very brief first version (a "stub") of an article on Nevis Historical and Conservation Society and I made sure that all the other mentions of NHCS in other Wikipedia articles are now linked to it. Please change it or add to it in whatever way you like. Have at it!!! I will keep an eye on it and "wikify" it as necessary as we go along.

If you want to send me info on this please do send it here to my talk page instead of sending it as a regular email to me. You may also want to look at my user page and my talk page here to see what's what on those. All my very best wishes to you, from Susan. here my signature is: Invertzoo (talk) 22:24, 5 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

By the way, to look at my rather full User page, click on the blue link part of my signature that says Invertzoo, and to look at my talk page or to go there to leave me a message, click on the blue link next to Invertzoo that says (talk). You also might want to put a little bit of info on your own user page, maybe just one or two sentences about yourself, so that your user name in your signature becomes a blue link rather than a red link.

Best to you, Invertzoo (talk) 14:19, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Strabon-Caraibes Project

edit

A tag has been placed on Strabon-Caraibes Project requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Explanation

edit

Hi Paul, I did not see it, but your (presumably very short stub) article on the Strabon-Caraibes project was speedy deleted because it did not explain what the project is and why it is important. You could have saved it as described above, but I guess you did not look on Wikipedia in time to realize that the article was in trouble. You can request that the article be reinstated, but only if you intend to expand it. If you need help with trying to get it back again, ask me. In general, if you want to make a very simple start on an article that cannot stand on its own, then you should do that on a subpage of your user page, and not put it up until it is at least vaguely respectable looking. And in general it's a good idea to check Wikipedia pretty often to see if you have messages and to see how your new articles are holding up. Best to you, Invertzoo (talk) 14:26, 10 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

They probably really should have used this template instead, which is more polite and more appropriate when addressing newcomers:

Welcome to Wikipedia. A page you recently created may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new pages, so it will shortly be removed (if it hasn't been already). Please use the sandbox for any tests. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read Your first article. You may also want to read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you. Invertzoo (talk) 22:36, 14 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's that time of year again...

Hey Paul, Did you get the copy of the paper I (Susan Hewitt) left for you at NHCS a few weeks ago? It was my paper about the shells that Rev Smith mentioned in "A Natural History of Nevis". Also... if you want help in re-instating your article on the Strabon-Caraibes Project, please drop me a line on my talk page. Invertzoo (talk) 20:33, 12 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
