Your Gilbert and Sullivan edits

I see you launched a rather substantial recategorization of the Gilbert and Sullivan pages. Generally, it is considered a bad idea to do make such an invasive series of edits without discussing it with other editors who are working actively in the subject area, who may have different points of view. The last time we did this (introducing the Gilbert and Sullivan performers category), it was only after such a discussion.

I have reverted most of these edits and launched a discussion on Talk:Gilbert and Sullivan. Feel free to contribute, and after consensus has been reached, we can make whatever changes the community has agreed upon. Marc Shepherd 14:07, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Also, feel free to add yourself to the list of "participants" at WP:GS if you would like to get involved in the G&S project. Ssilvers 05:25, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Declaration of State of Israel 1948.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Declaration of State of Israel 1948.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jkelly 19:50, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Nevermind the above -- I found a source for the image and added it to the description at Commons, where someone had uploaded it. Jkelly

Theta Beta Potata PUNK HOUSE Deletion Review

This article was first started by me and was deleted back in May '06. I was reading the punk house article and saw that the link for the TBP article was no longer red so I clicked on it and there was an article back up, started by another user. I dont know who started it because, it was deleted soon after I saw it. The decision made in the "Article for Deletion" debate should be reconsidered. The article is about a punk house not a fratenal organization. It seems that the debate, run by User:ChrisB and results were reported by User:Mailer Diablo. I will post this on their talk pages. This is the first time I have requested a deletion review so please let me know what else I need to do. If there is anything. I am on wikipedia frequently and I want to learn. Thanks. Just curious..

..as to what the purpose is in bypassing the redirects in the Literary initials article? Best wishes. -- Peripatetic 10:29, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

It is my understanding that it's generally better to link directly to an article's actual title than to link via a redirect; redirects are there mostly to catch misspellings and typoes and suchlike. Now that you mention it, though, changing them all does seem like a rather pointless exercise.
(If the question is: why did I use pipes and leave the links looking the same? that's because you used the punctuation-less style so consistently that I assumed you had a good reason for it, so I thought I'd better leave it intact.) --Paul A 12:59, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Categorizing

I was trying to sort out the various Tamora Pierce-related articles, clean them up and categorize them neatly, but I'm still rther new to WP, so I wasn't entirely sure what the consensus category hierarchy is. Thanks for sorting out the categories. LeaHazel : talk : contribs 10:35, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

You're welcome. --Paul A 10:36, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Hammer templates glitch

Thanks for sorting out the glitch with the templates and doing the extra legwork to update the templates on articles! David L Rattigan 07:37, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

You're welcome. Heck, I had nothing more interesting to do anyway. --Paul A 07:38, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Moving Pages

Sorry about that. I was not aware of the procedure.

Unfortunately, now that I have copy-pasted the old page, I think I will need help from an admin to do it for me. Can you please help me move the page? The project is inactive and I am going to try and revive it, but I think I should start by moving the page.

Thanks for moving the page. I hope to get the project active soon. Fleiger 17:23, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Please Delete

This page. ReverendG 05:09, 23 November 2006 (UTC) Nevermind, it was deleted as I posted that. ReverendG 05:10, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Ok, this time I think it'll last long enough, [[Category:Cannabis recipies]], typo in name, pages moved to other category. Please to delete please. ReverendG 18:19, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Nope, it was gone when I got there. There are some things that Wikipedia is very good at. :) --Paul A 06:26, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Hey Paul

Hello Paul, My name is J Dogg (Josh) and I would Like to thank you for your addition to Lost City. I would also like to say that the line that you wrote about the Fauchards being loosely based on the Krupp Family, is brilliant. I was thinking those very thoughts myself as I read the book and feel quite silly for not putting them in the article. Thank you for your contribution J Dogg 21:31, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I think you've misread the edit history or something. I have made only one, very small, edit to Lost City; the additions you mention were made by somebody else. (Unfortunately, whoever it was wasn't logged in, so there's no way of finding them and thanking them.) --Paul A 05:39, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Philanthropist

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Philanthropist, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Philanthropist. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. — Sebastian (talk) 03:26, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
