Searching Supreme Court archives edit

Pamri, can you help me getting the details of a 1967 case involving an attempt to murder M.G. Ramachandran by M.R. Radha ? The case went from a magistrate court and M.R. Radha was convicted by Chengulpet Sessions Court which was subsequently affirmed by the Madras High Court. The Supreme Court of India commuted his sentence from 7 years to 3.5 years. It'd be great if I could get a copy of one or more of these judgments. I tried in vain searching judis.nic.in site. May be, I didn't search properly ? -- Sundar \talk \contribs 14:17, 31 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Economy of India FAR edit

Hi

You look to be a contributor to this article, which is about to go into FARC unless we can get some input from economics people. A few of us, including me, have put a great effort into copy-editing and other improvements.

Can you assist? There are a number of unaddressed inline queries, and IMV the article needs more depth in a few places.

Tony 10:55, 9 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Excellent. Will you kindly leave a note to that effect at WP:FAR#Economy of India, to settle their minds that things are happening? Tony 00:30, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Supreme Court archive edit

Thanks for your effort. I'll let you know if I get more details. I've written a small article on that subject in Tamil Wikipedia based on a book that I read, but the judgment text would still help. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 08:06, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Pchidambaram-solo-bw.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Pchidambaram-solo-bw.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kimchi.sg 10:24, 13 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

User:Mahawiki and User:Arya_Rajya_Maharashtra edit

Please take a look at the edits of the other two users. They have been extremely uncivil and almost rowdy in the way they are badgering User:Dineshkannambadi and also vandalising the Rashtrakuta and other pages. I have already warned them using {civil2} but i do not expect them to mend their ways. Mahawiki in particular has been extremely uncouth in his behaviour for last few weeks. You can check the messages he leaves on my talk page, Dinesh's talk page, on the Belgaum talk page and many other pages he edits. Some of their indiscretions also include using the slang 'Kannadi' to refer to Kannadigas and of late they have started addressing Dinesh Kannambadi as 'Kannadabadi'(sic). They seem to have some prejudice against Kannada, Karnataka and Kannadigas and have been militantly removing even all instances of the word "Kannda" from various articles(eg. Sholapur). Mahawiki has also been 'de-hyperlinking' all hyperlinks to Kannada poets etc., that he comes across in any article. Also they are trying to give people the impression that edits by Dinesh and all editors they are prejudiced to, are unreferenced or without citations. This is NOT true. If you read the talk pages of all these articles, you can see that Dinesh has answered every question raised by any editor in the past and has also provided all his citations for everything he has put in there. In spite of that, these editors are repeatedly tagging those articles(like Rashtrakuta) with NPOV and such other tags. Please rein these people in. They are wasting productive time of many editors here on wikipedia. They are also blatantly accusing Dinesh of using sockpuppets, which is not true. They are accusing Dinesh of using User:Vgowda as his sockuppet

Below are some samples of their edits, not an exhaustive list but u can get their style of trolling.

Arya Maharashtra's

[1] [2] [3]

Mahawiki's

[4] --->Here he accuses Dinesh of vandalising Rajkumar article when Dinesh probably doesnt even have a single edit on that article. Just an example of the blatant lies he is indulging in to mislead people.

With Mahawiki, there are many many more... you can find if you go through his history of edits. On the Belgaum page in particular, after some edit warring he went for AMA and User:Amerique agreed to be his advocate. But even after User:Amerique stepped in, he continued his bad faith and unconstructive edits in bad language, which forced me and also Amerique to abruptly withdraw from the debate. Please rein him in.

Thanks, Sarvagnya 05:34, 11 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

p.s:Even as i was typing the above message to you, I see that an administrator has blocked him. Please keep an eye on both of them anyway. Thanks. Sarvagnya 05:38, 11 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Kannadisation of articles edit

User sarvagnya, after badly failing to push his POV on Belgaum page is just taking revenge by badmouthing me.I would request all to see Belgaum talk page where I was constantly giving my sources/citations about why Marathi transliteration was necessary and this user was just ignoring him.At last, when I asked for consensus,he ran away when all of Hindi experts cleared the doubts.I would request him not to take all of it personally!

Before the intervention Aksi_great and Amerique I was being emotional and completely unaware of Wiki policies.Just after their advice,I retained the warnings,I did stop responding the abuses by Sarvagnya.About the word Kannadi, just see kannada page, where Marathi wikitag clearly depicts that Kannada is known as 'Kannadi' in Marathi.Morever these ppl also use terms like Marathis and Marati which I dont take as abuse.Word kannadi is not slang but its the word residents of karnataka are recognised with!

Dont just see Solapur, see Kaveri water dispute,rajkumar,vijayanagara_empire,chalukyas,Rashtrakuta and what all.See their talk pages. Many editors have questioned their claims about 'kannadisation' of those articles. These few Kannadi editors are worst than vandalisers as they wisely choose fanatic sources to market their kannada language and culture.Sarvagnya's vandalism on Belgaum page can be seen here [vandalism of sarvagnya] About the Rajkumar article, first see the length of that article! Its seems it is his autobiography than a encyclopedic article.Secondly they have not mentioned the fact that Telugu was his mothertongue.(see the talk page). Also look Vande_mataram,Jana_gana_mana where these ppl are trying hard to delete Nagari transcriptions! Plz ask User:Amerique about why he did stopped his meditation. It was because the issue was resolved by consensus!Plz see [Amerique's rsolution] (see the last two posts in that section) See the consensus generated Belgaum talk page [Consensus of Belgaum page]which made sarvagnya run away! This instance shows how sarvagnya is expert in distorting facts! In fact dont go by my word ask Amerique why did he stopped responding!See how Sarvagnya was being rude and uncivil [here].

I request to keep a watch on these Kannadi vandalisers who are Kannadising articles by citing fanatic sources and distorting facts. mahawiki 12:46, 11 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Mahawiki edit

Hi dear Admin,

This is to bring to your notice the wiki-feud I've been having with User:Mahawiki for almost one month now. It started with the Belgaum page which went to mediation, warnings were handed out to both parties, and when Mahawiki's incivil ways continued, Admin:Bluyugen handed him a warning and then a block. Find that here.

I do not want to turn the clock back and go through all those content disputes again. Infact, I dont want to present to you the details of any content dispute we've had. All I want to present to you is the brazen incivility and personal attacks being committed by User:Mahawiki either in the course of his content disputes or even simply just out of spite.

All the diffs(exhibiting his incivility and personal attacks) I provide below are from AFTER, I REPEAT, "AFTER". ADMIN BLUGYUEN INTERVENED, WARNED ALL OF US, AND HANDED MAHAWIKI A BLOCK.

Please find below dozens of instances of blatant incivility and personal attacks by User:Mahawiki either on me or on User:Dineshkannambadi and all Kannadigas in general. His remarks are in extremely bad taste and counterproductive resulting in undermining of the good faith efforts of the other editors to carry on editing their articles.

While I dont want to go into each and every diff and explain it, just to give you a sample of his incivility, he has made edits where, even if only in jest or sarcasm, he makes atrocious claims like, I am on a kill Mahawiki mission, that User:Dineshkannambadi is the Kannada (Bin) Laden(sic). In another edit, even if only for jest(which I certainly dont find amusing nor appreciate esp., when it comes from him), he has threatened to sue me. He has called us cultural TERRORISTS, losers, notorious, shameless etc., etc. He uses the word vandalism like one would use 'Hi' and 'Hello'.

Find all the above and much much much more in the diffs I've provided below. Whats worse is his antics are going unchecked because Admin:Blugyen who knows about our feud is on a wikibreak and Admin:Sundar whose intervention I've sought more than once, is busy with other things(I presume, in real life) - which ofcourse, I dont hold against either of them.

But wikipedia will be a poorer place if brazen incivility like this goes unchecked for weeks simply because many admins dont know about it or the ones who know are by force of circumstances, too busy to deal with it.

I request immediate and harsh action on Mahawiki.

Once again, let me remind everyone that in the links below, none of them pertain to any content disputes. I belive in dealing with the content disputes on the relevant talk pages and dont usually bring it out on user talk pages.

Infact, I have even not listed below, the atrocious claim he made a couple of days ago that I had deleted and later undeleted an article. Also not listed below is his blatant removal of {{fact}} tags I had added in a couple of articles without even clarifying or providing a citation for the claim which I had tagged. Also not listed below may be umpteen other instances of incivility and npa violations on his part that I might have missed.

All the diffs below deal purely and only with his brazen incivil comments and personal attacks not just on me, but on User:Dineshkannambadi and also highly respected historians like Mr. Suryanath Kamath et al(who have been cited in some articles by Dinesh) whom he has trashed and dismissed in the most uncivil manner possible.

Apart from this he also makes disparaging remarks on Karnataka and Karnataka politicians who he keeps claiming are oppressing and torturing Marathi speaking people in Belgaum. This is not a content dispute, this is plain nonsense and insanely belligerent language.

His incivility apart, he has made it a habit and a routine to go around all over wikipedia branding me and Dinesh as 'Kannadi' vandals bent on Kannadizing all articles we touch. Ask him if we have included any uncited material or if we has ever cited any references for his numerous claims or whether he has taken it up on the article talk page instead of on a random user talk page. His answer will be negative. And yet, that doesnt stop him from going around shouting that we have been vandalising articles!!

Anway, I dont want to veer this towards the 'content disputes' which is a whole different matter altogether. Content disputes can always be discussed and agreements reached. Let me present to you just his brazen incivility and personal attacks.

Here we go -

Fair use rationale for Image:Punch marked coin from Madhyadesha.jpg edit

  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Punch marked coin from Madhyadesha.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.   Thanks for uploading Image:Don williams.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
