Thanks edit

Thanks for coming along and fixing up all my little mistakes in the Warhammer 40,000 articles. I really appreciate it Saberwyn

No problem. I used to be a big 40K fan years ago (still got a box of random minatures sitting *somewhere*), and I've enjoyed reading the articles and finding out about new parts of the universe I never found out about before -- Palfrey 18:20, 1 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for fixing the Halifax page! It was a total hack job. Someone added about 1000 words of history to the HRM article three weeks ago and its taken this long to rationalise all the stuff and sort it out. Still very much a work in progress. WayeMason 16:54, 30 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the Labour Party fixes. How do you do that trick of reverting a whole bunch of little changes? Can it be done using popups? Thanks! MarkThomas 19:31, 15 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I actually did a *complete* reversion to the older version, which is usually the fastest method to revert vandalism. Goto page history, goto the last correct version, then click 'edit page'. There's this warning 'You are editing a prior version of this page', and you could probably just save this page, but I tend to select the whole page code and copy it into an edit of the current version (which works fine). - Palfrey 22:34, 15 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

You created Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mdirs to suggest that Mdirs be deleted. User:TBC replied there: "Note that redirects should be listed on WP:RfD and not WP:AfD."

New Zealand singles edit

Hi - you seem to be adding music notability templates to quite a few New Zealand singles (such as {{Ray Of Shine]]). These singles may not have had big exposure worldwide, but they are all of quite significant notability. Without meaning to be rude, might I suggest that these be left to be expanded by the New Zealand music editors who are currently working on them, rather than being tagged by someone who may not have much knowledge of the New zealand music scene? Believe me, there are NZ editors who will tag truly non-notable music articles from this part of the world! :) Grutness...wha? 04:03, 8 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sordid City Blues edit

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Sordid City Blues, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Sordid City Blues. You may remove the {{dated prod}} template, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. -- Brad Beattie (talk) 02:47, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Naruto unleaeshed s1 p1 dvd.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Naruto unleaeshed s1 p1 dvd.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fair use rationale for Image:Rolling_Kansas.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Rolling_Kansas.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 21:02, 29 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:A Hat Full of Sky Cover.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:A Hat Full of Sky Cover.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --18:45, 22 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi

I see that you have removed my contribution "On a map of Africa, Zimbabwe can be easily recognised as its shape looks like a cartoon caricature of Margaret Thatcher, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990."

You have also labelled it as junk. I think this is POV. I am not in the habit of writing junk. Rather, mnemonics are useful aids in life, and I have suggested that we need a Wikimnemonics. Any comment? Ergateesuk (talk) 06:28, 24 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
