FYI conflict of interest guideline edit

  Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia in Polish American Librarians Association (PALA) or other articles, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. – Athaenara 23:51, 7 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so much RHaworth  I appreciate your help for new users who try learn how to create article, even when I moved article as Wikipedia:User pages

Block edit

I have blocked you for violation of our username policy - see template:usernameblock. But if all you are going to do is promote PALA, then there is probably little point in creating a new account. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:05, 1 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Skills edit

I do not understand why you blocked my user. I am member of PALA non-profit organization, I tried set up the Wikipedia page same style as American_Library_Association. I am new on Wikipedia so I make some mistakes and my article was banned and moved to private page until I will learn how tom make good standard Wikipedia page, or until we find someone in our organization who will handle Wikipedia article. I am voluntarily web designer for Palalib.org and I admit I have to learn how to follow Wikipedia rules. Soon we will replace Logo so that logo is not actual any more File:Logo_PALA.jpg and should be deleted. I will appreciate help with that.

Also I have question how I can archive Wikipedia editor skills (or anyone new) when instead warring/advise/suggestion the account is deleted or blocked. — Palalib (talk · contribs) via e-mail.

  • The reasons for blocking this name are given in template:usernameblock. I do not use it because it gives too much encouragement. But there is absolutely nothing stopping you creating a new account. Once you have done that, you can request deletion of the logo yourself. But I repeat the advice given by Athaenara and myself: it is far better that you should wait until someone with no COI writes about the organisation. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:26, 12 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
