Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Riverview School, Silver Lake WI requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Copied email response

Hi Jason!

In order for any school article to meet standards for inclusion, we'd need to identify several sources which cover the school in detail, and meet the standard for identifying reliable sources, independent of the subject. These sources don't need to be online, and they certainly don't have to be recent. Let's say you found a published town history of Silver Lake which describes the founding of the school. Let's say an educator at your school once had a periodical article written about them. Perhaps there's an annual activity in which the school participates which has received newspaper coverage in a town outside of Silver Lake (Kenosha, Racine, or Milwaukee). All these could be satisfactory sources which might be used to establish notability. Then connected sources (like the school website or the town paper) could be used to flesh out the page.

I'd make an alternative suggestion, however. There's already an article about Silver Lake, Wisconsin. The village is notable, based on previous common outcomes. However, this article doesn't contain any information about what education facilities exist in the region. Perhaps you could start by locating sources (connected or not) which represent information on the schools in the area. We'd want to be inclusive of schools besides your own.

I'm going to copy this email response on your user talk page on Wikipedia, so Kudpung and others can see what we're discussing, and so I can more easily link to policies guidelines and examples which may help us understand each other.

Keep my email address for private conversation, but let's have this discussion in the more public arena where others wiser than myself may be able to add something. BusterD (talk) 18:36, 13 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi Paintflake! I got your email and have replied. BusterD (talk) 14:46, 18 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Might be useful if you read this page: Wikipedia:Training. Notice there's a section for educators and students, plus a newcomer's section. BusterD (talk) 14:52, 18 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

The article Riverview Elementary School, Silver Lake, Wisconsin has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unverified, non-notable elementary school.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
