Carl Benjamin Boyer edit

Hallo, I'm an italian wikipedia contributor and I wrote the article on the historian of mathematics Carl Benjamin Boyer (though my main contributions are on chess) . I was prompted to write it after reading some pages of his book A history of mathematics, which I think is a great book on the subject. I'm asking you if you can tell me the right pronunciation of his surname: it looks like a french surname, so it should be [buaié], but I'm not sure about it, it may also be [bɔyər]. Thank you for any answer, --Gabodon (talk) 14:59, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

NowCommons: Image:Image-Greek letter omega.png edit

Image:Image-Greek letter omega.png is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:Image:Greek letter omega.png. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[Image:Greek letter omega.png]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 14:40, 30 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Template:Number infobox edit

A tag has been placed on Template:Number infobox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
