editWelcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (Electronium) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.
There are two issues with this:
- It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization or adding links to its website.
- Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.
Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. - In response to the above: I am new here, and created an account to write about an old invention, only one example of which exists in the world, called Electronium. And lo and behold, it is not used by anyone as a username! There's no company representing the device, and if there was one I surely wouldn't be involved in it. See it as someone writing articles about cars, who chose the username F1... --Electronium (talk) 15:54, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
An edit I made to my first Wikipedia contribution was marked as vandalism. However, (1) the article is not yet published but only submitted for review, and (2) it was created by myself, so why on earth would I vandalize it?
I'm sure I did something wrong, being new here, but being flagged as a vandal and receiving a last and final warning without explanation is not very helpful... Electronium (talk) 16:30, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
- Apologies Electronium, Apologies. I appear to use Huggle on a very slow computer and sometimes the articles often never appear up and I meant to have done it to another article, not yours. I apologise. I am not making any sort of excuse or whatever it is the truth. Apologies if that was for you because it was meant for a problematic IP address. But still, I will be cautioned for warning the incorrect people just because of Huggle lagging. Don't be discouraged because of a simple computer error. - No worries, and thank you for the quick reply and explanation! --Electronium (talk) 15:56, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
