I've done a bit of work on the Mortemart article, sorting out some of the translation. (I've also corrected two typos at http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titres_de_la_Famille_de_Mortemart#Les_ducs_de_Mortemart ) For the earlier part, I've followed your lead in translating the translatable names, but have restored ones like 'Love' to the French - as they don't work in English. while i am sympathetic, the peacockyness is risible, that's a peacock tag, and copyedit, not speedy. promotional implies they're selling something, which that article is not. Occoquan (talk) 15:30, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

Actually, 'promotional' can apply to charities and ideas too, in the sense used on WP. Failing WP:SOAPBOX can lead to charges of promotion, as, of course, can failing WP:SPAM. Peridon (talk) 11:52, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

good point. the problem with "advocacy" is that merely writing an article is advocacy of a sort, and so we see people who "don't like it" prodding, and then speedy deleting when you add references. it's a convenient excuse to delete content rather than edit. 71.176.49.208 (talk) 00:18, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
