Phyno

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Phyno, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.biographyhome.com/2013/08/phyno.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Speedy deletion nomination of Phyno

edit

Hello Nwaforekene,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Phyno for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Mycomp86 (talk) 14:41, 24 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Re the above, please read our guidelines on notability and verifiability. You can work on the article in your sandbox until you have found the necessary references.

Chidinma

edit

A source that was copy and pasted from an earlier revision of a Wikipedia page is not reliable. If you claim that Chidinma is from Imo State, prove it. Her parents being from Imo State doesn't make her a resident of Imo State. She did not originate from there. Her parents did, not her. Versace1608 (Talk) 15:51, 24 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your comment. I would assume you are a Westerner. Please feel free to correct me. However you do not see it from the context I am coming from. My correction is not about where she is resident or even where she was born, but of her place of origin. I know the 'Western' concept of hometown is where one is born/raised. That's why I avoided here. In this part of the world, where one is 'from' is where their 'ancestors' are from. You can make reference to other note-worthy NIgerians' profile to understand where I am coming from. Nwaforekene (talk) 23:00, 24 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

I live in the United States, but I'm not a westerner. Although this is the norm in Nigeria, you must understand that information on Wikipedia pertains to the world and not limited to Nigeria alone. Versace1608 (Talk) 00:04, 25 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Ok then. I'm sorry for the mis-representation of where you are from. Your answer also gives an insight to the reason for my correction. You just confirmed that you live in the US, but you are not a Westerner. That would suggest that you mean your origin is from somewhere else. That is more or less what I am trying to correct in this instance - Just the 'Origin'. Other tabs like 'Born', etc would not change. I would give you some instances on wikipedia: P_Square,[1] Don_Jazzy,[2] etc. Just look at the 'Born' and 'Origin' tabs and see that they differ accordingly. By the way, I haven't forgotten about this. Here's my response. Per Wikipedia's Template:Infobox musical artist, origin means "The town, city etc., from which the group or musician originated (that is, the place where the group was founded, or where individual performer started their career, should it not match the location of their birth). If the place is not known, specify at least the country. Do not add a flag icon. Omit the country if it does not differ from that specified at the field "birth_place"."
This has nothing to do with Nigeria or Western philosophy. Just so you know, Origin on Wikipedia always means the place where an artist started their musical career. If the origin parameter is written differently for the Don Jazzy and P-Square articles, it would imply that the Don Jazzy and P-Square articles need to be revised and rectified. Ok. I hear. I would check further and get back to you. Nwaforekene (talk) 10:35, 29 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
