Speedy deletion nomination of Moganza

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Moganza, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. One example of a Wikipedia entry I used in my initial research for presentation was Lark_in_the_Morning as this seemed to cover the type of entry intended for Moganza. NuGoth (talk) 10:39, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Also I have realised there are many stubs that are works in progress, and many appear closer to an advert than the Moganza entry. Is a stub a better approach at this early stage? NuGoth (talk) 10:55, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

How does verification work?

I have attempted to follow the examples of other entries whereby a coined term is used to explain a new style or approach to a msuic and/or movie production process, albeit of an amateur nature.

The Moganza is not a big-budget Hollywood production, nor is it an advert.

Hello and thanks for the note.

I thought it best not to be too technical and go back to montage/collage, Andy warhol and cut-ups etc. New styles/formats/processes often take a while to find their own level. So am happy for suggestions of a better approach? NuGoth (talk) 10:51, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

The issue is still there, sources you used do not meet requirements and your article may be removed soon, you must add reliable sources which proove that the movie is notable if you want to keep article in mainspace. Petrb (talk) 10:58, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Yes they can modify it but article will not be available through search. If you want I can move it for you. Petrb (talk) 11:05, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks again. I have a copy of the page in my user space. Do I then need to submit to yourself and/or to a variety of people. The entry on Moganza is intended to be concise and not at this stage a complex summary of history and development. So the entry was based on examples in Wikipedia of other stubs and their style and content. NuGoth (talk) 11:20, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

In that case remove {{hang-on}} from article and it will be removed. You should move to AfC once it would be ready. Petrb (talk) 11:27, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

I am sure that Petrb was attempting to be helpful, but it does not look to me as though lack of sources was the reason why the article was nominated for speedy deletion. the reason given was that it appeared to be unambiguous promotion, and reading the article I see no reason whatsoever to doubt that that was indeed the reason. The whole impression gained from reading the article in its original form is that it is there to tell us what a great job Moganza Productions is doing. Certainly sources are needed for any Wikipedia article, but with or without sources promotional editing is not permissible. It is perhaps also worth pointing out that, although looking at other articles to see what is acceptable is a natural thing to do, it is not always a reliable guide, for reasons described at WP:OTHERSTUFF.
