Speedy deletion nomination of User:Niotron

edit

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Niotron, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. GPL93 (talk) 16:07, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Contested deletion

The page that I created today and the respected team has taken a quick action to remove is baseless. Before creating this page I read the guidelines and all terms. And also I haven't used wiki as our webpage or not even for promoting it. We have our own website for all this. We created our page here because wikipedia is the best place to share info about our company and as this is our first startup it's a great feeling to have a page of company which cintains all info about company's current position history and all. I strongly believe and hope wikipedia team will take a deep look and recover my page. And yah as i created this page and informed our small community about this great thing. They all get excited to see the page and may team have detected traffic on page. But again request team to help me in recovering this page. It's a huge achievement for us to have a page here. I here to answer all your questions and I repeat again i haven't used wiki in any kind of advertisement.

Thanks Niotron (talk) 17:05, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Despite your claims of having read all the guidelines, you appear to have completely misunderstood the purpose of Wikipedia and several important policies. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 17:22, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Companies are not entitled to have Wikipedia articles just because they exist. A company must be notable by Wikipedia's definition to be considered worthy of inclusion. Since we have no interest in what a company's representatives have to say about it - because it is inherent conflict of interest - we rely on what reliable, third-party sources have chosen to publish about it.
An article about your company should not be considered an achievement to strive for; consider the law of unintended consequences. You would have not have any right of ownership or control over an article's contents, and the neutral point of view policy will ensure that both positive and negative information could be included, as long as it's reliably sourced and written with proper balance.
Your efforts would be better spent editing about some other topic where you have no conflict of interest. But, if you have no other interest other than writing about your own company, then perhaps you should consider an alternative outlet where this kind of writing is acceptable. Thanks. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 19:46, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'll just add, on top of everything Drm310 pointed out, you created a userpage, not a Wikipedia article. Brand new users cannot create Wikipedia articles for exactly this sort of reason. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:53, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:41, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
