Nice job, but userpage needs work

edit

Nice job on the tutorials, but you did not follow the instructions for setting up your user page. Nice job, but only partial credit until you fix it. Check my userpage to see what it should look like. Let me know if you have any problems and when you make the changes. J.R. Council (talk) 19:50, 10 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

History & Systems Project Topic

edit

One topic I would be very interested in looking into is the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) movement. This topic is very interesting to me, as I deal with this in my current job and think educating others on this topic would be very beneficial to the future of our world. This topic is something I would like to bring more awareness to, so if we could be part of improving a current resource on it, I would like to be a part of that influence.

Another topic I would be into learning more about is Chew and Spit. From what I can understand, this is basically a type of eating disorder in which an individual will chew their food but not swallow it, and rather spit it out. This must be a fairly new topic in the world of eating disorders, and I am glad light is being shed on it. Because of that, I would also be happy to bring more information to the table and create a more credible Wikipedia page for this information.Nicollette.j (talk) 17:04, 17 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Improvement of pages overall

edit

I do believe that both of these pages are good options for improvement as they both have a minimal amount of information present. They also both have warning labels on them, whether it is about formatting or other issues throughout the page. I believe that contributing to either of these pages will be beneficial to the general population in informing on issues around the world. I am excited to begin work on one of these topics, and will ensure beneficial information overall. = Preference & contributions

edit

Of the two topics listed, I believe the most interesting topic would be to elaborate more on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) movement. This also deals with my current job and with the line of study I plan to continue my career in. This is also a very important topic for myself and others to know more about so that they may understand what this means and ways to help or treat others who may have experiences these traumas. I did notice that there is a large article about a study done on adverse childhood experiences which may help us find some good sources on this topic if we look into their references. However, I don't think we need to cover the actual movement article about it but rather we should develop the actual article about ACE so that people can understand what it is.

The other topic on Chew and Spit eating disorder would also be an interesting topic to cover. This is a topic I do not know much about, however for any disorder it is important to have readily available information for the general public. By providing this information it can help others to know how to seek help or to help others who may be dealing with this. It can also help people to understand what the disorder is. Therefore, I do believe this is also an important topic to cover. I do think there is less information on this topic listed on Wikipedia, therefore although I am more interested in the other topic, Chew and Spit may be in more of a need for revision than ACE. History and Systems Project (2)

edit

After reading both responses, I agree with Shyla that chew and spit might be better for our first option. Would everyone be okay with that?Nicollette.j (talk) 17:06, 17 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Agree

edit

I do agree that Chew & Spit would be a better option for our group! As long as no one else chooses this topic, and it is available for us to edit it, I feel this would be a great option for us overall!
