SL2 stops edit

Please do not create articles for the SL2 stops - they absolutely will get deleted for lack of notability. The Washington Street stops barely meet notability themselves, but there are several key differences:

  • The Washington Street stops are dedicated BRT stations, with significantly larger shelters and more signage than ordinary bus stops. The SL2 stops are non-upgraded bus stops, half of which don't even have shelters.
  • The Washington Street stops have substantial history - streetcar history, planning for SL stop locations, plans for LRT conversion - that can be added, while the SL2 stops do not.
  • The SL2 stops have no relevant details that aren't covered in the list in the existing Silver Line article.

I understand that you're trying to improve MBTA coverage on Wikipedia, but you'll end up disappointed if you create these articles and they end up deleted. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 17:52, 29 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Would you be willing to withdraw the AfD for Back of the Hill station? The current E Branch surface stops are very different from the SL2 stops (they have substantial streetcar history - Riverway in particular was an important junction - and will likely be modified for accessibility in coming years) and the south-of-Heath Street stops (those stops had no information about them, not even solid proof of their locations, and were never individually shown on maps). They are useful articles to have, and I would rather spend my energies improving them than fighting to keep them. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 17:14, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
At least at the present time, no. See my comments on the page. Nick Boppel (talk) 15:57, 16 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Redirects and Kingston edit

There's basically never a need to move a redirect - you can just create a new redirect with the name you want. Redirects are cheap, and it's okay to have lots of them. Similarly, a plausible redirect (i.e, one that might reasonably be wikilinked or searched) should not be deleted (see WP:R#KEEP). When a double redirect is created, a bot will automatically fix it within a few days. (BTW, "South Boston Transitway" is the official name; "South Boston Piers Transitway" was an older name phased out during planning/construction.)

For Kingston station, because Kingston station (Rhode Island) is proposed for future MBTA service, the Massachusetts station should be Kingston station (Massachusetts) not Kingston station (MBTA). I'll perform the move and do the cleanup shortly. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 15:56, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

"Boston Design Center" listed at Redirects for discussion edit

A discussion is taking place to address the redirect Boston Design Center. The discussion will occur at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2021 June 30#Boston Design Center until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. signed, Rosguill talk 17:22, 30 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
