Speedy deletion nomination of User:Murray Peterson

edit

A tag has been placed on User:Murray Peterson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Contested deletion

edit

This page should not be speedily deleted because this is current primary information relating to the nomination of candidates in the Queensland State Election. These nominations were finalised today there is probably no other secondary information source yet. The purpose of the page is to provide up to date information that can be referred to by another page in Wikipedia.

Please do not introduce links in actual articles to user pages or sandboxes, as you did at Candidates of the 2020 Queensland state election. Since these pages have not been accepted as articles, user pages, sandboxes and drafts are not suitable for linking in articles. and such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been converted into "redlinks", directed to where the article will be if is eventually created and accepted. Thus the links will automatically become valid links aimed at the correct target if and when a real article accepted. Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 08:49, 11 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

I will move it to Wikisource.

This is your only warning; if you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. If you continue to use Wikipedia to promote your candidacy you will very likely be blocked. Cabayi (talk) 13:02, 11 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

This is your only warning; if you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising again, as you did at Candidates of the 2024 Queensland state election, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. You were warned about this before. Leonidlednev (TCL) 03:20, 8 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or self-promoting in violation of the conflict of interest and notability guidelines.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  PhilKnight (talk) 03:58, 8 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
My problem is I still don't understand the difference between other links from other candidates you have ignored that are even more promotional and my link. What would I need to do to the content of my link to meet your requirements? It is appearing to me as double standards on your part. Murray Peterson (talk) 05:34, 8 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
You don't get it. You will not be unblocked to promote your candidacy. Tweaking the content is not going to make it acceptable. This is the end of the road. PhilKnight (talk) 08:30, 8 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
I understand that you see my link as promoting my candidacy but I don't understand why you don't see the links of other candidates as promoting their candidacy. That is what is confusing me. Murray Peterson (talk) 12:21, 8 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
As far as I know, other candidates haven't added links promoting their candidacy. The links have been added by neutral editors. PhilKnight (talk) 12:59, 8 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for explaining that. Without that information, it just appeared to me as "double standards." That is easy. The rule is, "Candidates must not add links." I can agree to that. Murray Peterson (talk) 23:04, 8 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
