edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; however, please remember the essential rule of respecting copyrights. Edits to Wikipedia, such as your edit to the page Virginia Water F.C., may not contain material from copyrighted sources unless used with permission. It is almost never okay to copy extensive text out of a book or website and paste it into a Wikipedia article with little or no alteration, though you can clearly and briefly quote copyrighted text in the right circumstances. Content that does not comply with this legal rule must be removed. For more information on this, see:

If you still have questions, there is the Teahouse, or you can click here to ask a question on your talk page and someone will be along to answer it shortly. As you get started, you may find the pages below to be helpful.

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! — Diannaa (talk) 00:57, 8 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have again removed the copied content. We need to have documentation that shows the copyright holders have given permission for the material to be copied to this website. Wikipedia has procedures in place for this purpose. Please see WP:Donating copyrighted materials for an explanation of how to do it. There's a sample permission email at WP:Consent. — Diannaa (talk) 01:16, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Affirmation in an edit summary, as you did here, is not sufficient. You have been given instructions here on how properly to proceed; please follow them. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:54, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
I have made the relevant changes and sent an e-mail to confirm I hold all permissions from the source for Copyright Mspallan (talk) 13:08, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
We are a small club and want to promote our history to the local community. We are founded on donations and still run as so. Mspallan (talk) 13:14, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
You have a website to promote your history to your local community. That is not what Wikipedia is for. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:34, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'm not promoting the website at all. I'm adding relevant information about the club. I'll happily remove links to the website Mspallan (talk) 13:37, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Isn't wikipedia a place for anyone to access information and historical facts about a place/person/event etc? Why allow other football clubs, eg Manchester United FC to have a wiki page when the website has all the same information Mspallan (talk) 13:39, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please stop re-adding this content; there's no deadline, and you risk being blocked from editing. The Volunteer Response Team should have provided you with a ticket number, and I have no way of confirming with the agent that a ticket has been issued, as we don't have anyone with the username "Adrestia Dempolous". Please post the ticket number either here or on the article talk page. Thank you, — Diannaa (talk) 14:24, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
You are kidding me right now. Rather than ask the question on tickets and sort out your own admin with who is who you automatically delete my text. I have followed your rules and still this is done.

I was told by Adrestia that my original content could not be reinstated 'As stated in the email the content could not be reinstated due to the Copyright issue selected. That is why I had to redo it again. Mspallan (talk) 15:16, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
I am also happy to write my name at the bottom of the article found on the website, so that you can see that 1. I own the website and have full editable rights 2. Own the copy Mspallan (talk) 15:23, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Writing your name at the bottom of the website does nothing. You would have to release the website under a compatible license, as per the instructions at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials#Granting us permission to copy material already online. — Diannaa (talk) 20:43, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Can you tell me what else I need to do, I've email given my express permission to use my Content. I want to have a Wiki page that has relevant and information that has taken me months to verify and historically factual. Mspallan (talk) 08:57, 12 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Sorry but I have no idea who you received a response from, as you have not provided me with their username, and therefore I am unable to contact them on your behalf. (We don't have anyone with the username "Adrestia Dempolous" or "Adrestia". That might be their real name or the name that shows on their email account, but that's not the name they're editing under.) I am not a member of the Volunteer response team and do not have access to their email.
What you have to do is use an email address that's associated with the source website in some way, so as to show you are associated with the website and/or have their permission and control over the copyrights. Then, you have to word your email in a specific way that releases the content under a compatible license. There are full instructions at WP:Donating copyrighted materials. There's a sample permission email at WP:Consent.
Alternatively, you could add a compatible license to the webpage that you are copying from. If you want to do that, there's instructions at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials#Granting us permission to copy material already online. — Diannaa (talk) 18:09, 12 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi, I used the wording as per the template; the response was from the email address permissions@wikpedia.org name appended to the bottom Adrestia Demopoulos. The link will provide you with the email that I sent and the response

Thanks. Since the volunteer agent refused to issue a permission ticket, I cannot/will not restore it. I suggest that you respond to their email and ask for a more specific rationale as to why the content could not be restored. Make sure you quote the ticket number in case a different person reviews your email. — Diannaa (talk) 16:30, 13 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have to say, I'm confused by the sequence of events here. First, you told us that you received a ticket, and even provided a ticket number. Then you provided a link to an email showing that permission to use the content was denied. Which is it? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 21:07, 13 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
