Proper way to insert images in infoboxes

edit

Hello @Moxisd132. I am @Archer1234. I noticed your recent edit to Amy Rodriguez where you added an image to the infobox. I want to let you know that the way you added the image was not done according to Wikipedia's Manual of Style (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE).

When adding an image to an infobox, thumbnails should NOT be used. Simply supplying the file name will work. For example, to use File:Image PlaceHolder.png, you can simply use |image=Image PlaceHolder.png. Captions should be specified with the |caption= parameter. Every infobox is different and the documentation for the infobox in question should be consulted for the proper parameters to match the image and caption.
To fix

Do not use the full image syntax:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead, just supply the name of the image. So, in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg

and optionally:

|caption=Some image caption.

Hopefully you will find this information useful for your future editing. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask. — Archer1234 (talk) 05:22, 6 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello again @Moxisd132. I noticed that even after notification about the proper way to insert an image into an infobox that you made the same mistake here. Is there any confusion with how to do this properly? If so, feel free to ask me or you can ask at the WP:Teahouse. Thank you. — Archer1234 (talk) 14:33, 6 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your image was inserted successfully on the page Crystal Dunn, but because it appeared to be irrelevant to the article or violated the image use policy, it has been reverted or removed. Please use your sandbox for any tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Please see MOS:IMAGEQUALITY, we should be using a photograph of the subject of biographies, not a screenshot from a video game. S.A. Julio (talk) 06:48, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Sydney Leroux. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. S.A. Julio (talk) 22:29, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
