A note about Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy

edit

Hello, Morrisjody29. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 12:03, 21 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

MfD nomination of User:Morrisjody29

edit

User:Morrisjody29, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Morrisjody29 and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Morrisjody29 during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. SpinningSpark 11:40, 18 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

I understand the nomination for deletion of the page User:Morrisjody29 however how do we make our Draft: Prime Investors Capital page public and when do we know that it has been approved so that we can add pictures? Can I confirm that our Draft: Prime Investors Capital page has not been nominated for deletion? (Morrisjody29 (talk) 11:55, 18 August 2014 (UTC))Reply

If you think that the draft is ready you can submit it for review by adding the code {{subst:submit}} to the top of the page at Draft:Prime Investors Capital. However, I would advise that even were it to be accepted, the referencing leaves a lot to be desired and may still lead to it being nominated for deletion. Very little is supporting the notability of the subject. Many do not even mention the subject or only in passing. Wikipedia articles are not acceptable references. Nor, generally, are press releases. There are malformed references and redlinks. The only one that might confer notability is The Structural Engineer article, and even for that one I have my doubts. It is behind a paywall so I cannot really assess what it has to say about PIC, and it is written by the WSP Group who appear to be associated with the project.
I am assuming from your comment that you are agreeing to the deletion of your user page. If so, we can short-circuit the debate and speedy delete it. SpinningSpark 13:48, 18 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sorry I still don't understand, so I have a Draft for the Prime Investors Capital page created which I would like to be submitted to Wikipedia. The user page nominated for deletion- is it a separate page I created by accident? If so by all means delete the second page which I created by accident but I would like to make sure that this doesn't affect my other draft for Prime Investors Capital. I think we will have to agree to disagree on the acceptability of the references as if you see reference no.6 it is from the British government and the others are also from notable news sources. The notability of the subject is in conjunction with the pages of Rafael Serrano and Admiralty Arch. (Morrisjody29 (talk) 14:06, 18 August 2014 (UTC))Reply

You created another version of the article at User:Morrisjody29 which I have now deleted. I am giving you good advice on the references, but it's up to you whether you take it. Take a look at WP:42. It might get through AFC review on those refs (but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't) but that will not prevent someone from nominating it for a deletion discussion in the future. I also wouldn't be surprised if if it gets rejected for being promotional; phrases like "proven track record" scream marketing department at us. SpinningSpark 15:04, 18 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Prime Investors Capital

edit

Hello, Morrisjody29. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Prime Investors Capital".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13. An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Rankersbo (talk) 15:57, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
