Wikipedia and copyright

Hello Moreiramusic, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Moreira Chonguica have been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

• Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
• If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
• In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
• Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. Managing a conflict of interest

Hello, Moreiramusic. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Moreira Chonguica, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. Hi Diannaa, I apologise if I have done this incorrectly. I am Moreira Chonguica's official representative so I have authority to edit and correct his page as I put it up in the first place! I do not understand what I have done wrong with this edit. All we did was update existing information that was out of date. Regards, Lesley Wells165.145.204.209 (talk) 15:40, 30 June 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for your interest in Wikipedia. There are a couple of problems with your submission. You cannot post copyright material on Wikipedia even if you are the copyright holder, unless special licensing permissions are in place. That is because Wikipedia aims to be freely distributable and copyable by anyone, and all content must have the appropriate documentation in place before that can happen. Please see Wikipedia:donating copyrighted materials which explains how it works.

The second problem is conflict of interest. Working on an article about your own organisation or that of a client is strongly discouraged, as it is difficult to maintain the required neutral point of view. According to our terms of use, paid editors and people editing on behalf of their employer are required to disclose their conflict of interest by posting a notice on their user page or talk page. Hi Diannaa, Thank you for the reply. If I am unable to update an outdate article, then who must I ask to do this? Surely it is not in wikipedia's interests to have out of date material on its site? Lesley41.13.232.50 (talk) 13:37, 1 July 2017 (UTC)

Hi Diana, I wish to close this page. It is not in Moreira Chonguica's interests to have a page of information on him that is 9 years out of date. There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.
