Hello, Moosey98, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. What, sorry I'm still quite new to this and I don't quite understand what that means. Moosey98 (talk) 17:06, 12 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Jan Jones photo

edit

Hi Moosey, welcome to Wikipedia. I just saw your addition to the Jan Jones page and I'm going to have to undo it. Just so you know, photos uploaded to Wikipedia must be free from copyright. When you uploaded this photo, you marked it as "Own work"--but "own work" means that you took the photo and own it. Unless you the the official photographer for the Georgia Assembly, I doubt that's what you meant. :) The alternative is that the owner of the photo has published it under a free license. If there are photos that Jan that she as released for free, we can use them, but otherwise use of non-free photos is a copyright violation. Alyo (chat·edits) 14:25, 8 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

I apologize, I had assumed that the photos on the government website were free of copyright. If that isn't the case then I've uploaded a lot more portraits than just Jan Jones', I'm not sure how either you or I could undo it, but again I apologize! Moosey98 (talk) 14:28, 8 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
