Notes

edit

Hi Miranda, I have some notes:

  • This needs non-primary sources to establish notability. While this series is popular, popularity doesn't give notability on Wikipedia. You need things like news articles (like this review) or coverage in places like books, scholarly works, and the like. It can actually be pretty difficult for YT works to gain this coverage, as most media outlets tend to ignore YT series or creators. Places like TV Tropes shouldn't be used as sourcing as they're user edited. Also, the existence of a TV Tropes page isn't really a sign of notability per se, as anyone can create a page for a series. It's honestly something that is almost never mentioned in an article.
  • As mentioned, it's really hard to establish notability for YT personalities and media. Even putting out things like games and merchandise isn't a guarantee of notability - it can help make it more likely, but it isn't a guarantee. One big example of how difficult it can be to justify an article is PewDiePie. He didn't get an article until almost a year after he became the most subscribed channel on YT and even then, it was a slew of coverage and awards that really sealed it.

I hope that this helps! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:14, 30 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Llamas with Hats

edit

The article Llamas with Hats has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I didn't want to do this since this is among my favorite animated video series, but Llamas with Hats sadly just falls drastically short of notabillity guidelines.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
