Speedy deletion nomination of Empowered Holistic Nursing Education

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Empowered Holistic Nursing Education, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. I am contesting this removal of content. The information is scientific, and published in a peer-reviewed journal (as was documented on the page). There are citations for the information, and a link to the author's website - which is no a company, corporation, or for profit anything. The information is on a nursing theorist and is in following with the format for the many other nursing theorist that have pages on wikipedia Minimer01 (talk) 20:23, 21 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Empowered Holistic Nursing Education

Hello Minimer01,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Empowered Holistic Nursing Education for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Blackguard 20:33, 21 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Further advice

edit

I deleted it for the second time. An article containing such phrases as "EHNE is a theory that aims to guide nursing faculty and nursing students from all backgrounds in a way that is empowering, healthful, and balanced." is straight advertising, not an objective encyclopedia article. An article on a theory of practice should contain a description of the theory in neutral non-emotional language saying what it is, not using emotional language and jargon to proclaim what a wonderful theory or method it is. The following is pure jargon: "Interconnectedness is a foundational aspect of holistic nursing practice."

Furthermore, it is not enough that it be published in a peer-reviewed journal. Most of what is published in peer-reviewed journals is not notable in the WP sense. What would be necessary for it to be accepted is to show that it is widely referred to in standard textbooks and reviews. The only outside reference in the article were very general articles about nursing practice, published many years before the only published paper by the author on the actual subject. It can hardly be otherwise, since that paper was just published this year.

You say, perhaps correctly, that there are other articles in this field in WP that are no better than this one. If so, they need to be deleted. If you'll let me know what you think they are on my user talk page, if I agree with you, I'll list them for deletion. My advice to you for the present is to add to our articles on accepted concepts in the field, not those that have just been published. Once a theory has been accepted, then and only then is the time to write an WP article; and it should be written by someone who does not have the conflict of interest of having published it or developed it.
